Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Escaping University

"Alright, get ready, we'll be out in half a minute."

Mark stood up and walked towards the double doors of the Auditorium with a very calm expression.

Opening the doors, he glanced outside and went out after seeing only a few Common Zombies nearby and began to eliminate them.

Iris, Emma, Sophia, Jason, Raymond, and Karl quickly followed him. Evelyn and the other survivors didn't hesitate and also left the Auditorium, their faces pale and their stomachs churning at the sight of the headless corpses scattered on the floor and the horrible smell of blood.

Some survivors couldn't contain themselves and began to vomit everything they had eaten earlier.

Professor Evelyn resisted the urge to force herself to vomit, not wanting to appear weak in Mark's eyes, who noticed her attempt and smiled.

"You can do that if you want."

As soon as he said that, Evelyn didn't hesitate and began to vomit. Mark approached her and gave her a few gentle pats on the back, making Iris roll her eyes. Jason and the other men in the group looked at him enviously, but they didn't dare show it.

After Evelyn and the other survivors recovered, Mark returned to the front of the group and continued walking calmly and confidently, earning glances from most of the women in the group, including Sophia, Iris, and Emma.

Mark felt the stares but decided to ignore them; now was not the time to be complacent with the looks of various beautiful women. He led the group calmly and precisely, but the large number of Survivors attracted many Zombies.

Of course, the Zombies were easily killed by Mark, Iris, and the other Awakened in the group, so no one died or was hurt.

Along the way, Mark and the others checked all the rooms they passed through, finding more survivors. The new survivors who joined the group were very excited when they learned they were going to leave, but shock replaced joy when they learned that Mark was the group's leader.

Mark was disappointed not to see any Awoken in the new group of survivors, but he didn't show his disappointment on his face.

In the next hour, Mark and the others rescued dozens of survivors, among whom were three more Awoken!

'The University is too big, it's impossible to save all the survivors,' Mark thought with a grim expression on his face, and led everyone to the parking lot.

The completely exhausted survivors clenched their teeth and followed him and the others. Evelyn took off her high heels and walked barefoot on the cold ground, very close to Mark.

Several minutes later, the large group arrived at the parking lot after eliminating several waves of Zombies. Mark's sheer strength never ceased to shock everyone; killing Zombies for him was as easy as crushing ants.

Mark observed the various cars in the garage, many of them luxury vehicles, and focused his eyes on a large bus.

"Does anyone here know how to hotwire a car?" He looked at the others and asked with a frown, remembering that they didn't have the bus key.

The survivors exchanged frustrated glances and pale faces. A middle-aged man stepped forward, his hand raised.

"I... I know..."

"Good! Come quickly!" Mark nodded and gestured with his hand as he watched the approaching zombies.

He grabbed the steel baseball bat and ran to take down the zombies along with Emma, Sophia, and the others. Iris, now at Level 7, demonstrated terrifying combat power. The same could be said of Sophia and Emma.

Meanwhile, Evelyn watched them with eyes gleaming with desire and a touch of envy; she too wished she had the strength to protect herself and her family.

'Are they alright?' She thought, biting her lower lip hard, her eyes slightly watery.

*Ding!*

[You Leveled Up!]

[+1 Point to all Attributes, +50 Mana Points and +100 Spiritual Energy Points.]

A notification echoed in Mark's mind, who felt his strength increase slightly and his mind become much clearer.

"It seems the large number of survivors gathered in one place is attracting the Zombies!" Mark thought as he crushed another Zombie's head with the Steel Baseball Bat.

If the Zombies could really sense people's presence, even from afar, then building a Survivor Base without sufficient strength would be serious suicide!

Before he could think further, the loud sound of the bus engine starting echoed through the area, attracting even more Zombies.

"Get on the bus!" Mark ordered as he advanced towards the Zombies with a cold expression. He activated the Supreme Amplification Talent and the Super Strength Ability, greatly increasing his Strength.

*Bang!*

*Bang!*

*Bang!*

*Bang!*

The sounds of zombie heads exploded echoed loudly through the area. Many of the survivors paled at the sound of the heads being exploded.

"The explosions are too disturbing."

Soon, all the survivors entered the bus. Mark observed hundreds of zombies advancing frantically from all directions. His eyes gleaming coldly, he pointed his right palm at the large steel gate of the parking lot...

[Fireball!]

A flaming fireball three times larger than a basketball formed in front of Mark's palm and shot towards the large steel gate like a cannonball!

*BOOOOOMM!!*

A huge explosion occurred, destroying the steel gate and everything around it for several dozen meters!

The zombies were turned to ashes in an instant, leaving Iris, Evelyn, and all the others utterly shocked. Everyone stared at the site of the explosion with astonished expressions and wide eyes.

"Wow~ with the Supreme Amplification Talent, the power of this Skill is tremendous!" Mark murmured as he heard dozens of notifications echoing in his mind. Unfortunately, the noise created by the Fireball Ability was very, very loud, attracting all the Zombies within a radius of several kilometers.

"Get out!" Mark entered the bus and ordered urgently.

The middle-aged man named Clark stepped hard on the accelerator and made the bus leave the parking lot quickly.

Mark stuck his head out the window and spoke loudly, after using the Supreme Amplification Talent to increase the volume of his voice tenfold!

"SURVIVORS! DO NOT LEAVE YOUR HIDING PLACES, I PROMISE WE WILL RETURN TO SAVE YOU!"

His voice echoed throughout the University, leaving all the survivors excited, very anxious, afraid of being left behind, and hopeful. As for the Zombies? Mark's voice made them even more agitated.

Fierce roars echoed almost everywhere in the University, making Mark's eyes gleam with a strong, cold light.

The bus sped down the road, followed by a large number of Common Zombies, who were left behind as the seconds passed.

All the survivors sighed with immense relief, some even began to cry tears of joy. Iris, Raymond, Sophia, Jason, and the other Awakened were also very happy and excited to have escaped hell.

Almost everyone looked at Mark and sighed in admiration at seeing him calm, focused, looking towards Galewth University with an unreadable expression on his ugly face.

"We... are we really going back?" Iris asked Mark in a low voice.

He gripped the handle of the Steel Baseball Bat tighter and nodded: "Yes, we will return to rescue those who are still alive..."

Mark refuses to be a selfish human who only thinks of himself. To him, selfish and cowardly people are no better than pieces of trash!

Of course, confidence in his own strength is also one of the reasons, otherwise Mark would never face such great danger to save strangers.
