Chapter 45 - Chapter 47:The Crimson Plan

Night fell over the forest, but peace did not follow the sunset.

Deep within the dark woods, far from the silver glow of the Moonborn temple, Kael stood on a jagged cliff overlooking a valley of shadows. The moon hung high above, pale and cold, yet its light barely touched the ground below.

Crimson energy pulsed faintly around him.

Behind him gathered the wolves who had retreated from the temple battle. They were stronger than ordinary rogues—larger, faster, their eyes glowing with the same unnatural red aura Kael commanded.

One wolf stepped forward cautiously.

"My lord… the Moonborn have grown stronger than expected."

Kael's lips curled into a slow, dangerous smile.

"Of course they have," he said calmly. "Lyra has awakened the Heart. Power like that changes everything."

Another rogue growled softly.

"Then we attack again. Before they grow stronger."

Kael turned suddenly, his crimson eyes blazing.

"No."

The single word silenced the entire pack.

"You still think like ordinary wolves," he continued. "Brute force will not break the Moonborn temple anymore. Not while the Heart protects it."

He raised his hand slowly, crimson energy swirling in his palm like living fire.

"But there are other ways to destroy them."

The energy expanded, forming a dark image in the air—a map of the surrounding territories.

"Lyra believes the temple is the center of everything," Kael said quietly. "She believes protecting it means protecting her people."

He pointed toward several distant territories glowing faintly in the projection.

"But wolves are not bound only to temples."

The rogues watched as the glowing territories dimmed one by one under the crimson light.

"We will strike their allies," Kael continued. "Packs that support the Moonborn. Villages that rely on them. We will turn their world into chaos."

A murmur of approval spread through the rogue wolves.

Kael's smile widened.

"And when Lyra is forced to leave the temple to protect them…"

His crimson aura flared violently.

"…that is when the Heart will finally be mine."

Meanwhile, far away, the Moonborn temple glowed softly beneath the moonlight.

Training had ended for the day, and the new warriors rested around the temple grounds. Some lay near the pillars, exhausted but proud of their progress.

Inside the main chamber, Lyra stood alone before the Heart of the Moonborn.

The crystal floated above the altar, glowing with steady silver light.

She placed her hand against it.

Immediately, warmth spread through her body.

But tonight, something felt… different.

A faint ripple passed through the Heart.

Lyra frowned.

"What is it trying to show me?" she whispered.

Suddenly, flashes of images flickered through her mind.

Burning villages.

Fleeing wolves.

Crimson shadows spreading across the land.

Lyra gasped and pulled her hand away.

The vision vanished instantly.

Footsteps echoed behind her.

"Lyra?"

She turned to see Darius entering the chamber. His dark eyes studied her carefully.

"You felt it too, didn't you?" he asked.

Lyra nodded slowly.

"The Heart showed me something… a warning."

Darius walked closer to the altar, glancing at the glowing crystal.

"What kind of warning?"

Lyra's silver eyes darkened slightly.

"Kael isn't coming straight for us anymore."

Darius's jaw tightened.

"Then what is he planning?"

Lyra took a slow breath.

"He's going after the other packs."

For a moment, silence filled the chamber.

Darius growled under his breath.

"That coward…"

Lyra stepped closer to him, determination rising in her voice.

"He wants to force us to leave the temple. If we split our forces, the Heart becomes vulnerable."

Darius crossed his arms, thinking.

"So we're trapped here?"

Lyra shook her head.

"No."

Her silver aura flickered gently.

"We adapt."

Just then, the first Alpha stepped into the chamber. Its massive silver form moved silently across the stone floor.

"I sensed disturbance in the Heart," the ancient wolf said.

Lyra nodded.

"Kael is planning something bigger."

The first Alpha's eyes narrowed.

"Then the Moonborn must grow faster."

Lyra turned toward the training grounds visible beyond the temple doors.

Dozens of wolves rested outside.

But tomorrow…

They would become stronger.

"We train harder," Lyra said firmly.

"We expand our warriors."

Her silver aura brightened.

"And if Kael wants war across the territories…"

She clenched her fists.

"…then the Moonborn will answer everywhere."

The first Alpha gave a low approving rumble.

Darius smiled slightly beside her.

And outside, beneath the moon, the wind carried the distant sound of wolves howling across the forest.

The war for the future of the Moonborn had truly begun
