[Catarosphetic Danger]
-Raelith has been affected by the Demonic energy. You have 30 days. Either save him or devour his soul. Failing to do so will turn him into a nightmare lord, and disaster would follow.
-Reward: Aspect of soul, first stage
-Failure: destruction of the academy and deaths
'Huh? What the hell is that?' Ed was taken by the sudden quest.
'Demonic energy? how when did that happen?' his expression darkened when he realized the source. His mind froze; he couldn't comprehend what was going on.
'So its my fault, the battle between Azek and me that day!' Ed thought his life couldn't get more twisted, but fate had yanked him out of his delusions.
'System, is there a way to save him?' He asked
[There is. There are three options. The first option is holy magic, which is rare. Second, a priest at least has to be higher-ranked than the target. Third is to fight him to the death without harming and have an external source of pure energy; holy energy-embedded weapon]
The system stated. But the situation wasn't in his favor. The first option was not possible in his current situation, and to top it off, holy and something corrupted as soul wasn't an attribute Ed could wield. As Soul and holy can't coexist at the same time. Even if Ed Holy were to be possible, Ed would need time to master it, which he didn't have. Time was the factor here.
'So, you're telling me I have to someone as strong as Raelith. He is now B-rank if he were to become nightmare lord i'd be facing an SS+. He didn't even consider as he knew already that getting a priest was impossible. The priest mainly had a different academy they enrolled in, and leaving the academy wasn't permitted, so it was given that he had to fight his friend, who would appear more fearsome than ever.
"Ed, are you listening?!!" Evans shout yanked Ed out of his reverie.
"Huh?" Ed got a jump scare.
"Man, why are you daydreaming here out of all places?" Evans complained.
"Ah, my bad," Ed apologized as he scratched his head.
While Ed was in his own thoughts, Leonard had been evaluating their scores, and other sparring sessions had been done. Aside from his spar, the rest spar was short as no one had as much firepower as Samand Ed, except one. It was the girl who asked Leonard questions; she was Asella Veilknit. She overwhelmed her opponent with a single strike.

Later that day.
All the classes were done for that day, and students were free to do whatever they wished.
"Something is wrong in this academy, my hunches are always right," A voice spoke. It was a woman with blonde hair, scarlet red eyes; she was gorgeous looking. She wore a witch hat; It was gradient in black and purple, and dark gray arcane robes, which mainly mages wear. She was seated in a high chair. The buttons of her uniform beneath the arcane robes seemed to be staged in a perpetual battle against her frame. Before her was a white, moderate-sized table. There was couple of paper documents, they had information on students' identity and their whereabouts before they came into the academy. Among all the documents, she had separated two documents. On the first one It was a red-haired boy. Yeah, he was Raelith on the other; it was Ed Orves.
"I feel like some disaster will befall between these students. Either it'll be the red-haired one or something else. But I can't seem to gauge the other one's fate," she let out a sigh.
"As capable as you can't gauge a mere boy's fate? What's insane! You're the blood mage: Luna." The man jolted and stood out, violet energy flared. Cracks appeared on the table.
"Velkist Control Yourself!" Luna said as red lines bound Velkist, restraining him now that his head was on the ground. Whatever he tried, he couldn't break free of Luna's magic.
"Behave yourself, who do you think stands before you?" She spoke, her voice grew ice-cold.
"Forgive my impudence, I lost my composure there," Velkist said.
Luna stood up and took a cigar, and ignited it as blue flames formed on her fingertips. She fixed her robes, and her robe had 8th circle marks, which were used to measure a mage's rank. Eight circles meant either she was SSS+ or SSS.
"That boy Raelith, something vile is clinging to him. I can't restrain that entity. All I can offer is buying time, one month is all I can offer," Luna said with a grim expression.
"I feel like that child, Ed, may be the cure." She said.
"How can you be so sure?" asked Velkist.
"He possesses a world-breaking ability as I do. As you know, when two world breaking ability collide with each other, they nullify." She exhaled the smoke and continued.
"Do you mean that kid's ability is far stronger than yours???" Velkist asked, his expression confused. It was a natural reaction. Luna was one of the strongest mages of her generation. When the war against Titans began, she alone massacred over thirty thousand soldiers single-handedly without exhausting her Spirit Energy.
"Yeah, my ability 'Absolute Gaze' lets me predict events of my target in the next 72hours" Luna stated. Normally, she would have nullified Ed's ability, but Ed wasn't anything but ordinary. Despite being a war veteran, she was forced to depend on a mere student who somehow possessed a terrifying ability. The ability to manipulate souls itself wasn't ordinary, nor was it grand or heroid it was the opposite. It was something vile.

In his dorm, Ed sat at the top of the bunk bed. He can't seem to be able to sleep. Who could blame him for the constant otherworldly murmuring, since coming to this world, his first friend, Raelith, was in danger. Nothing eased his worry; it only grew more the longer he thought. He spent countless hours trying to find a way out of the mess he had run into. A dead end, Ed had hit a wall.
