Azaria stretched her hands above her head and leaned back heavily in her office chair. It was just reaching noon and she had a meeting with the VP and Idris in about two hours. She was mostly done with the tasks she'd set for the day and Priya had been in and out of her office a couple of times since she arrived that morning. She decided to get something hot to drink in the meantime before the meeting time came, so she left her office for the department breakroom.
Inside, the scent of strong lemon cleaner clung to the walls. She stepped inside, her heels clicking softly on the floor. A single figure leaned against the granite countertop, swirling a lukewarm tea in a mug. Azaria recognised the woman as they had worked together years ago before she was eventually promoted. She had never particularly had any conversations with the woman that involved anything outside work. Vanessa, she believed, was her name.
