~Elsie's POV
I did not sleep, not even for a second. I stayed in that same position for what felt like hours, staring at nothing, thinking about everything and nothing at the same time. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw that dream again, and every time I opened them, the silence in the room felt too loud.
So I just stayed awake until the faint light of morning slowly crept into the room. I must have dozed off at some point without realizing it, because the next thing I heard was the door opening loudly.
"Elsie!"
I jerked slightly, my head turning toward the sound, and it was Gianna.
She walked in with so much energy, and with a bright smile on her face as she moved closer to the bed.
I pushed myself up slowly, forcing a small smile.
"Good morning," I said.
She stopped in front of me, looking at me properly now, and her expression changed almost immediately.
"What is wrong with you?" she asked, her brows pulling together. "Why do you look like that?"
