I laughed softly, just a little, because it was obvious she was trying to hide it but failing completely.
"You were just talking to him like your voice changed," I added gently.
She sighed, then gave up pretending.
"It is not that deep," she said, though she could not fully hide the smile on her face.
I raised a brow slightly, enjoying her reaction more than I probably should have. But then her expression shifted. It was small at first, just a change in her eyes, like something heavier had crossed her mind. The smile faded a little, and she leaned back slowly, her fingers resting on the edge of the bed.
I noticed that something was wrong.
"Are you okay?" I asked, my tone softening.
She let out a small breath, almost like she had been holding something in for a while.
"It is just…" she started, then paused.
I waited quietly.
