Chapter 19 - The Saturday

Jay's POV

Saturday. Finally.

No meetings.

No schedules.

No corporate tension.

Just her.

Her phone buzzed while she was getting ready

Keifer: Dinner tonight. 7 PM. Don't argue.

She smiled.

But she typed back anyway.

Jay: I can't. I'm meeting someone.

Three dots appeared immediately.

Keifer: Who?

She rolled her eyes.

Jay: My best friend. She just came back from America.

A pause.

Keifer: Fine. Sunday then.

Possessive. But controlled.

She laughed softly.

That evening, she stood outside a café in London, scanning the street—

And then—

"SHE'S STILL SHORT!"

Jay gasped. "SARA?!"

They ran toward each other and hugged tightly.

Sara looked exactly the same. Stylish. Loud. Dramatic.

"You disappeared into corporate life and didn't even call me properly!" Sara accused.

"You moved to America!" Jay shot back.

They both laughed.

After settling down, Jay started telling her everything.

About Watson Enterprises.

About becoming his secretary.

About the tension.

The jealousy.

The confession.

Sara's mouth dropped open.

"OMG JAY."

Jay covered her face. "Stop yelling."

"You got that handsome trillionaire?!" Sara whisper-shouted. "Do you understand he's every girl's dream? Tall, rich, cold CEO vibe?!"

Jay's cheeks turned pink instantly.

"He's not like that…" she muttered softly.

"Oh he's worse," Sara teased. "And he's yours."

Jay bit her lip, trying not to smile too hard.

Later that night—

They went clubbing.

At first, it was harmless. Music. Dancing. Laughing.

Then drinks happened.

And more drinks.

And more.

Jay had already sent her live location to Keifer earlier when he had texted:

Keifer: Send me your location. Just in case.

She had rolled her eyes and sent it.

Now?

Her phone was ringing.

She squinted at the screen.

"Why is my phone vibrating so aggressively…" she mumbled.

Sara grabbed it. "It says Keifer."

Jay tried to grab it back but missed.

She wasn't picking up.

Across the city, Keifer's jaw tightened.

Three missed calls.

He grabbed his keys.

At the club entrance—

He walked in, scanning the crowd once.

And then he saw her.

Laughing loudly. Slightly stumbling.

His expression darkened.

He walked straight toward her.

She turned slowly when she felt someone grab her wrist gently.

"Don't kidnap me," she slurred dramatically. "I know karate."

His jaw tightened. "Jay."

She squinted at him.

"…Keifer?"

"Yes."

Her expression suddenly softened.

"Awwww," she smiled lazily. "My keiffff."

He froze slightly.

"My bffff," she added proudly.

Sara was trying not to laugh.

"I'm taking her," Keifer said calmly.

"Good luck," Sara replied.

Outside—

Jay was still mumbling nonsense.

He suddenly lifted her bridal style.

She gasped. "WOAH. I CAN FLY."

"Stop talking," he muttered.

He placed her gently in the passenger seat and reached over to buckle her seatbelt.

"I want ice cream," she said seriously.

"No."

She crossed her arms. "Then I won't wear the seatbelt."

And she actually unbuckled it.

"Jay."

Her eyes filled dramatically. "You don't love me."

His eye twitched.

"…Fine."

Her tears disappeared instantly. "Yay."

She obediently wore the seatbelt again.

Five minutes later, he stood outside an ice cream shop at almost midnight.

He got her chocolate.

When he handed it to her in the car—

She suddenly climbed onto his lap.

He froze.

"Jay."

She ignored him, happily eating her ice cream while sitting comfortably on him.

"You're very warm," she mumbled.

He was shocked for a second.

Then he chuckled quietly.

This girl.

After a few bites, her head slowly dropped against his chest.

Ice cream still in her hand.

Fast asleep.

He carefully took it away and adjusted her gently back into her seat.

For a moment, he just stared at her

Messy hair. Slightly smudged lipstick. Completely defenseless.

"Unbelievable," he murmured softly.

At his house—

He carried her inside carefully.

Not to his room.

To the guest room.

He placed her gently on the bed and removed her heels.

She stirred slightly.

"…Keif?"

"I'm here."

She smiled faintly in her sleep.

"Don't marry anyone else."

His chest tightened.

"I won't," he said quietly.

She was already asleep again.

He stood there for a moment longer.

Then left the room softly.

But not before looking back at her one last time.
