The lower tunnels of Aurum, usually damp and silent, were now a battlefield of sparks and screams. A unit of specialized System Cleansers—armored entities with masks that projected a cold, blue scanning light—had cornered Kira and the remaining members of the Shadow Council.
"Target identified: Glitch Variant 09-Kira," one of the Cleansers droned, raising a heavy suppression cannon. "Initiating permanent erasure."
Kira, her mana depleted and her breathing heavy, looked at the exhausted Elara behind her. She gripped her broken dagger, ready for one final, hopeless stand. "Not today, you tin cans."
As the cannon charged with blinding white light, a sudden ripple of silver electricity tore through the tunnel's ceiling. A massive, crescent-shaped blade of oily black energy slammed into the ground between the Cleansers and the Council.

"I believe you were looking for me," a voice echoed, cold and vibrating with power.
From the smoke stepped Caelum. He looked like a god of the void. His armor flowed with liquid silver, and in his hand, the Data-Scythe hummed with a sound like a thousand dying servers.
"Master!" Kira gasped, her eyes widening.
Caelum didn't say another word. He swung the Scythe in a wide horizontal arc. He didn't even touch the Cleansers, but the air itself seemed to split. The moment the black energy of the Scythe brushed their armor, the Cleansers didn't just break—they dissolved. Their code was being harvested, pulled into the blade like water into a sponge.

The remaining Cleansers tried to retreat, their logic processors failing to understand how a 'deleted' entity was back and stronger than ever.
"Don't bother running," Caelum whispered, his eyes glowing with a lethal silver light. "I've rewritten your 'Escape' command to 'Delete'."
He lunged forward, moving so fast he became a blur of silver. Each swing of the Scythe erased a Cleanser from the world of Aurum. No bodies were left behind, no blood—just empty space where life once existed.
In seconds, the tunnel was silent. Caelum stood over the last remaining Cleanser, who was shivering as its legs turned into raw pixels.
"Tell the Creator," Caelum said, leaning down, "that the 'Sanitization' just failed. I'm not a bug in his system anymore. I'm the virus that's going to rewrite the whole world."
He slammed the butt of the Scythe into the ground, and a wave of silver energy healed the Council members instantly.
"Elara, Kira," Caelum turned to them, his expression softening just for a second. "The time for hiding is over. We're going to the Prime Core. We're taking the Admin password."
