Chapter 32 - Chapter 32: The Logic of Chaos

The sky above Aurum didn't just scream; it groaned under the weight of a dying god. When the Null-Void Blade connected with the Sentinel's chest, the sound wasn't a metallic clang. It was the sound of a billion glass screens shattering at once.

White shards of data-matter rained down on the city, dissolving before they hit the ground. The Sentinel staggered, its geometric face flickering between a humanoid shape and a mass of raw, untextured cubes.

"It's trying to heal," Elara shouted from the palace balcony, her staff glowing fiercely. "Caelum, the Central Server is pouring massive amounts of backup data into it! If you don't finish it now, it will adapt to your blade!"

Caelum, hovering in mid-air through a gravity-defying glitch, didn't panic. He watched the white light pouring into the Sentinel's wound.

"Let it adapt," Caelum muttered, his eyes narrowing. "The more data it pulls from the Central Server, the more of a bridge it creates. I don't just want to kill a Sentinel. I want to see what's on the other side of the firewall."

With a flick of his wrist, Caelum performed a gesture that looked like he was swiping a giant touchscreen in the sky.

Suddenly, the white light flowing into the Sentinel turned a dark, bruised violet. The creature let out a distorted roar as its own healing process turned into a viral infection. Caelum wasn't just fighting; he was 'Hacking' the healing stream.

"Kira! Now!" Caelum commanded.

From the shadows of the Sentinel's own massive body, Kira emerged like a ghost. She didn't use daggers this time. She held two glowing orbs of unstable code that Caelum had prepared. She slammed them into the Sentinel's joints.

The giant Sentinel began to collapse, its legs turning into liquid pixels. It looked up at Caelum, its voice a broken mix of a thousand different people.

"Y-you... are... not... supposed... to... exist..."

Caelum landed lightly on the Sentinel's shoulder, his blade resting against its neck. "That's the beauty of a glitch, isn't it? We exist exactly where we aren't supposed to."

He drove the Null-Void Blade deep into the Sentinel's throat. But instead of an explosion, there was a sudden, terrifying silence. The red sky turned pitch black.

A new window appeared in front of Caelum, one that was different from any he had ever seen. It wasn't the usual blue or red. It was gold, and it hummed with a power that made his hands tremble.

Caelum looked up. Far above the clouds, a single, massive eye made of pure code opened for a split second before vanishing.

"The Creator?" Caelum whispered, a cold chill running down his spine. "So, this world has a father. It's time I met him."
