Chapter 21 - Chapter 21

Did you two get up to something last night?

Court of Fontaine.

Lumine and Paimon had already returned to the place they stayed when they first arrived in Fontaine.

"Lumine, why don't you chat with Kael in the group? Ask him where he is right now."

"We can go find him."

Find him?

What for?

Lumine flipped her hair with a huff. "Why should we go find him? Why isn't he coming to find us?"

"Besides, I'm really confused about what was wrong with me in my past life."

"Having a crush?"

"That's just not like me at all."

"Maybe it's just like others say." Paimon put on a detective act and spoke with fake maturity. "Maybe the light screen only shows the big picture. A lot of details aren't fully revealed."

"Maybe you'll only fully understand what you two went through after you get your memories back."

Paimon's analysis helped Lumine calm down.

But as soon as she saw Kael acting so familiar in the livestream chat...

Lumine felt a strange tightness in her chest for some reason.

In the past life, they acted like a loving couple. In this life, they were like strangers.

You really know how to play games, Reincarnator.

They arrived at Diluc's tavern.

Sure enough, they found Venti there.

Diluc said he looked too young to drink. But Venti claimed he had been drinking for a very long time.

Sadly, he could only afford cheap wine.

After a quick discussion, they followed Venti's plan. They needed to use the purified Blood of the Corrupted Dragon to fix the strings of the Holy Lyre der Himmel.

Then, he would go to Starsnatch Cliff in Mondstadt to summon Dvalin. Once the corrupted blood on Dvalin was purified, his sanity would return.

And so, the so-called Dragon disaster would finally end.

He spotted the problem with the Holy Lyre der Himmel's strings at a glance. He even figured out how to fix it right on the spot.

Barbara: "This..."

Diluc: "Cough. As expected. Even in the past life, Venti, you still sneak drinks from my tavern."

Zhongli: "From what we can see, Venti looks completely like a drunkard."

Dvalin: "He doesn't even have enough Mora for good wine and has to drink cheap stuff. Poor bard."

Kael: "So does that mean the bard's performances don't take Mora, only wine?"

Venti: "Please don't say that, Reincarnator. My performances are actually quite good."

Barbara: "Enough, all of you. Do you think all the viewers are fools? He can do things no one else in Mondstadt can do. Isn't he just the Anemo Archon, Barbatos?"

Barbara: "Oh my. The Anemo Archon in my heart is actually like this. He encourages the Reincarnator to steal the lyre, then runs off to Master Diluc's tavern to steal wine..."

Kaeya: "So, when Jean and Diluc followed Venti to Stormterror's Lair back then, they already knew his true identity, right?"

Amber: "Acting Grand Master Jean?"

Jean: "The Anemo Archon meant that he didn't want us to rely too heavily on his power. So..."

Paimon: "That's completely wrong. The bard just wants an easy life and wants to ignore his duties."

Venti: "Ehe."

Lumine: "@Kael, why are you joining the chat now? What, are you really interested in your own reincarnation story?"

Kael: "Don't be so strict. In the past life, I gave all my Mora to you. In this life, I finally have financial freedom. Let me relax a bit."

Yae Miko: "What a gentle man. He gave all his Mora to Lumine in the past life. That's not really common in Inazuma, where women manage men's money. But Mr. Kael is right. This life has no ties to the past. Why not come live in Inazuma with us?"

Lumine: "Go to Inazuma and face the Thunder of the Raiden Shogun. I'm sure you'll enjoy it, Reincarnator."

Raiden Ei: "Huh?"

Everything was ready.

That night, everyone decided to get a good rest. They would head to Starsnatch Cliff the next day.

The next day, they arrived at Starsnatch Cliff.

They felt the gentle breeze of Starsnatch Cliff once again.

Lumine's face showed pure comfort.

"Did everyone sleep well last night?"

Jean asked with concern.

"Everything was great."

Venti smiled and spread his hands. "Playing music in a place like this really feels like a reunion with fate."

"Yeah! No matter what, things are finally looking up."

A smile appeared on Acting Grand Master Jean's face.

Lately, it had been the Dragon disaster, the Abyss Order, and the Fatui.

Jean felt a lot of pressure.

But the core issue was still Dvalin. Once Dvalin was dealt with, all the problems surrounding him would vanish.

"It's a shame that, in the end, it's a bard and an outlander traveler who solve the problem."

Diluc was a bit speechless.

"Well, I guess the Knights at least put in some hard work."

"Alright, alright." Venti cut off Diluc's complaint and turned his gaze to Kael.

"By the way, you got plenty of rest last night, right? You should be good to go."

"Yeah..."

Kael nodded in response.

Unfortunately, a slightly awkward look crossed his face. It seemed Venti had hit a nerve.

Lumine shyly looked away into the distance.

Luckily, no one else there noticed their strange behavior.

Furina: "Something feels off. I hope nothing goes wrong."

Lumine: "What do you mean?"

Lisa: "You're right. The atmosphere does feel a bit strange. Could it be that Mr. Kael will drop the ball at such a critical moment?"

Aether: "Hmph! Maybe he'll reveal his true colors at such a crucial moment."

Venti: "True colors?"

Dottore: "Take advantage of Venti summoning Dvalin, use some trick to completely control him, and then launch an attack on Mondstadt?"

Dvalin: "No way. Am I just being passed from the Abyss Order to the Reincarnator?"

Paimon: "That's impossible. I bet Kael just lacks confidence. When people expect so much from you, it brings a lot of pressure too."

Lumine: "@Kael, dear Reincarnator, come out and give us a spoiler."

Kael: "....."

Kael: "I don't have my past life memories either. How am I supposed to tell you?"

Lumine: "Hmph!"
