Chapter 26 - Chapter 26

I do not know how long we waited. Finally, the heavy doors opened. Enjou saw two familiar figures appear before him.

"Oh!" Enjou let out a fake gasp of surprise. "Should I call this a surprise, or completely expected? To push forward through a ruin filled with thick fog, just to stand before me. If anyone could do that, it would only be you."

Kael and Lumine were confused. They had no idea what this guy with glasses was planning. But judging by his words and his past actions, he definitely had another goal in mind.

Lumine's eyes went wide as she looked at Kael. "He seems to be praising you. But I really do not think this fog was as hard as it sounds. Even without you by my side, I could have found him on my own."

Enjou: "....." Wait, did you two even understand what I just said?

"You just said he knows me. I think he actually knows you." Lumine put one hand on her hip. With her other hand, she poked Kael with a slender finger. "Think carefully. Did you offend someone in Mondstadt or somewhere else? He seems to want revenge on you."

Lumine's words made Kael fall into deep thought. Offend someone? That should not be it. "Besides you, I only know Diluc and Venti. I have not offended anyone."

Hearing Kael's answer, Lumine knew he was just trying to make her happy on purpose. But she admitted she really liked it. Her pretty face flushed with joy as she said, "Even if you say he might know me, I really do not know him."

"I do not know him either."

Enjou: "....." Stop showing off your love. It is so sickening. "But one thing is clear. He lied to both of us. Right, Kael?"

Lumine smiled, looking to Kael for confirmation. Seeing Kael nod, Enjou followed with a low chuckle. "Heh heh... It seems you have learned a lesson. That is right. I deceived you."

As soon as he finished speaking, white smoke burst from Enjou's body. When the smoke cleared, he revealed his true form. He was a member of the Abyss Order. A crimson Abyss Lector.

"Who are you?" This scene went beyond Kael and Lumine's imagination. They never expected that Enjou was actually from the Abyss Order.

"I see. So the Abyss Order really did come to get revenge on me? It must be because of Dvalin." Kael suddenly understood. No wonder Enjou had been targeting him from the beginning. But then he thought again. This guy was actually quite principled. He went straight to the source of the debt.

"No. I just want to tell you not to trust anyone so easily." Enjou finally turned his gaze directly to Lumine. "The man beside you named Kael might deceive you just like I did. He could drag you into an abyss of no return."

Kael had no interest in listening to Enjou's wild nonsense. "I do not know what your goal is, but you clearly do not want to tell us. In that case, I will just have to beat it out of you."

However, during their fight, Kael felt something was off. It felt like Enjou was holding back his power. He was fighting timidly. After just a few moves, Enjou started waving his hands. "Stop, stop! If we keep going, I will really die."

Kael: "....."

Bang! A dull thud echoed. Kael stomped Enjou to the ground with one foot. "Then explain it properly. What was your purpose in luring us here?"

At the same time, a flash of sword light suddenly streaked past Kael. Kael froze for a moment. He had to let go of Enjou and dodge to the side. "Kael, are you okay?" Lumine quickly ran over to check on him.

Kael shook his head to show he was fine. But that sword flash made him feel a power that did not belong to the Seven Elements. "You are..."

When Kael looked up at the newcomer, he was completely stunned. From any angle, the person before him shared certain similarities with Lumine.

"Hey, that is rude. What kind of trick is a sneak attack?" Lumine was extremely annoyed that the stranger almost hurt Kael. But when she saw who it was, her pupils widened uncontrollably. "Bro..."

"Brother?" It really was Lumine's brother. Kael's mind suddenly felt heavy. Why would Lumine's brother save that Abyss Herald named Enjou?

Just as Kael was confused, Enjou got up and dropped to one knee. "Your Highness, the Prince."

Hearing this, Kael and Lumine froze at the same time. Lumine's brother was actually the mastermind behind the Abyss Order?

"Bro... brother..."

"What is going on?"

"Lumine..." Aether looked gently at Lumine, who was too shocked to react. His gaze also swept toward Kael. "Lumine, you should not be walking with this person."

Hearing this, Kael stayed silent. There was no doubt he was Lumine's brother. Since he was her brother, saying anything now would be rude and out of place.

"Brother? Kael, he..." Lumine was completely lost. She had no idea what was happening. Why had her brother become the Prince of the Abyss? And why did he not want her to be with Kael?

"Lumine, I have already traveled through this world."

"Brother." Lumine interrupted Aether. "Now that I have found you, let us go together..."

Back home? Lumine suddenly choked on her words. Seeing this, Aether showed a hint of regret, but still spoke with understanding. "Not now. Before the Abyss drowns the Throne of the Gods, I still have an unfinished war with the Heavenly Principles."

"Lumine, I have already journeyed across this world. So you must do the same as me. Reach the end, and leave behind the mark of this world. When that time comes, we will finally meet again. But remember. You yourself are the center of this journey. You are its greatest meaning."
