Another hurriedly shut his door and locked it, while a woman standing beside a compact vehicle took several quick steps backward. The masked man's composure was unnerving, particularly because he seemed completely unconcerned about the number of people watching him.
However, the SUV's driver appeared more angered than frightened. Perhaps he believed that the stranger was merely an ordinary criminal relying on intimidation, or perhaps his pride made it difficult for him to accept being ordered around in front of so many people.
