A/N: Please Respond to the Question from the laste chapter. I really want your opinion on this.
Faust didn't find the Velvet Arachne. He guessed it was a zone boss, with the Rock spiders protecting the zone. So if he wanted to find the boss he had to push through the army of small spiders.
This would be a good time to have a team….
With a group, their skills would be more diverse, allowing them to face a variety of enemies. Right now what he lacked was an Aoe spell to clear out the mobs and a shield or trap spell to slow down and crowd control the spiders.
He doubted he would get all those skills even if he found another Treasure chest, so he just focused on farming Kobolds first.
Hopefully I can get a good skill book from them…
The dog-like creatures were more individualistic and hunted alone. But he found their den after some skulking through the forest. It was an old mind shaft built into a hill.
There was a huge Kobold leading them that he was too far from to appraise, but he guessed that it was the zone boss. Meaning it might have a treasure chest or special rewards for killing.
Faust nodded and began his hunt. After just a few minutes he had hunted three Kobolds since they now moved in groups.
He dropped down on a new group, unleashing his Acid Shot before he even hit the ground. He had the naginata out again and it slashed through the air in a blur
[You have killed "Small Kobold" and gained 15 experience points.]

Three kobolds died in his initial rush, all blinded by the acid, but there were still four other enemies.
Two of which wore a wooden mask that protected them from being blinded. They both held cutlasses, but the final one held a staff.
Finally another Kobold mage!
Faust grinned in excitement, turning on his heels to retreat behind a tree. The mage casted quickly and a fireball lit up the midnight forest.
But Faust was unbothered. He turned and used one of his more neglected Schema Abilities.
Instance Replication!
A copy of the fireball shot from his hand and met the Kobold's spell mid air in a huge explosion of fire.
The two kobold slayers circled the billowing flames to get at Faust. Each was as swift as the wind. But Faust was quicker.
They attacked with straight forward slashes that Faust deflected at the same time with careful placement of his naginata.
He spun his spear after deflecting the weapons to bat the cutlasses further away. Then smoothly transitioning into a jab.
The kobold tried dodging but it was outclassed in weapon mastery. The naginata speared through its throat with a burst of blood.
Then Dark Maw activated. Black energy swirled and quickly condensed into a shadowy jackal head that snapped down on the Kobold's head.
CRUNCH!
Faust pulled out the spear and jammed its butt into the second Kobold without even looking at it.
The second monster had been coming in for an overhead slash, sure the human wasn't watching, when the butt of the spear slammed into its chest.
The difference in strength between them was too great. The sound of bones cracking filled the air alongside the pained yelp of the monster as the wind was knocked out of its lungs.
Faust beheaded the monster in the next move. But he wasn't done.
The forest came alight with fire as a second fireball came down on him. Faust shook his head with a chuckle.
Instance Replication!
He didn't even stretch out his hand. A fireball formed in front of him and launched itself into the air, intercepting the enemy's spell mid air again.
BOOM!
Moving under the blinding distraction of the explosion, Faust closed in on the kobold mage quickly.
It searched the dark forest for him frantically, pointing its staff in every direction and yelping in a dog-like voice.
"Don't be afraid."
The moment the monster heard the whisper it was too late. The sound of a blade whistling through the air was all it heard when its first arm was severed. Before it could turn the blade flashed a second time and its other arm flew into the air.
The monster fell to its ass and stared up at the strange being that had been haunting their forest recently with open eyed fear.
Faust grabbed its neck, lifting it off the ground with one hand, and began draining its attributes. He extended his other hand and released his tether.
And then he shot off the ground into the tree canopies silently. He couldn't wait there for too long.

The Kobolds were individualistic, but that didn't mean they couldn't form squads. They worked with mages against the Rock Spiders and the Midnight Lynx in this area.
And more recently against Faust.
He had only been in the forest for like two hours, but the goddamn monsters already reacted to him and were looking for him.
He had attacked the first group thinking it was just a temporary thing, but one of the jackals ran off and alerted the rest of the new hunter.
How fun, Faust thought genuinely. Outsmarting your opponents and instilling fear in them was always better than killing a mindless beast.

He dropped the now dead shaman unceremoniously and retreated a little more before he reached his hideout tree.
Landing on the huge tree branch softly, Faust let out a breath and laid flat on the branch. He had been constantly fighting all day, but the exhaustion was only starting to get to him.
He willed the system to show him his results after two hours in the Mind's Forest
