Faust fused another pair of cutlasses.

[You have fused two identical pieces of equipment… enhancement failed!]
Faust's jaw tightened. Four pieces of equipment were lost just like that. But he simply cursed silently and continued.
[You have fused two identical pieces of equipment… enhancement successful!]
[Kobold Cutlasses +2 (Bronze): rusty, poorly made weapons. (Improved Sharpness.)]
He went through the process for all FIFTEEN cutlasses and only got 4 Kobold Cutlasses +2. Faust could only glare at the tools in annoyance. Then continued fusing from there.

[Kobold Cutlasses +3 (Bronze): rusty, poorly made weapons. (Improved Sharpness and integrity.)]
It was still a pretty trash weapon, but now he could use it with his dagger in the other hand.
As for his skill stones it was between Observe and Severe Hit, but Faust had already made up his mind. He needed Observe to gleam more details and find traps.
He crushed the two Skill stones
[Congratulations! You have upgraded "Observe Lv1" to "Observe Lv 2".]
[Observe Lv2 (Iron): Check your environment for traps or hidden enemies. Mark targets to track for three minutes. Requirements: 30 Spirit. Cooldown: ten seconds]
Faust used the skill once more and so much more was open to him. It highlighted gaps in the ground and footsteps too. He found a set of footsteps going up the hill which the mine resides under.
He followed the footsteps till he gasped soundlessly.
There was an archer hidden at the top of the hill with a hunting horn, watching over the mine. Faust would have been caught long before his Hitman mission started if he hadn't been looking carefully.
Okay. So, I have to take care of that guy first.
It was the only archer based on how well he studied for footsteps.
"Let's get this party on the road then," he whispered, retreating into the trees.
It didn't take him long to get up the hill and behind the Archer Kobold. He avoided appraising it or looking directly at it yet.
But the Kobold wasn't in a good condition either. It let out a dog-like yawn and didn't notice Faust behind him till it was too late.
Faust's iron-like grip clamped its mouth shut, his dagger drew a bloody line across its throat, and the beast choked on its own blood. He drained its attributes mostly so it died faster.

Ignoring the chime he retreated down the hill once again and performed the assassinations with patient performance.
The chief stepped out and barked his usual angry orders to get the Kobolds alert. Then Fasut waited. All three pissers came into the forest and died slowly over three minutes in different places.
He grabbed the snout of the final Kobold and drove his dagger through its throat. Then he hid the body in a bush and watched the mine perimeter.
His assassinations were perfectly timed. The Kobolds were entering another round of tiredness.
Exhaling, he calmed his body and released tension. He placed his dagger in his bag to free his hands and stretch hisnlegs.
His half-lidded gaze was fixed on the two flirting Kobolds with calm intensity.
Then the final Kobold turned.
He shot into the clearing without a sound. His stealth didn't mark the path in front of him as a place he could be spotted, nor did it highlight the sightlines of any of the now seven Small Kobolds around him.
The path was narrow and dark. The only route he could take to the mine without being seen for now.
Right toward the Kobold couple.
The Kobold with the cutlass wasn't turned towards him, rather it faced the female who was leaning against the mine's wooden beam.
She could turn and see him at any moment.
But he was fast. So fast. After hours spent using his ever growing Agility in the forest he was very used to it now. There was only a hundred meters between Faust and the Kobold couple.
He reached top speed one second after he started his run.
The Kobold female's eyes widened when she saw him. But she was slower than a turtle. It took three seconds before she even raised a hand.
Faust was there in two.
His hands shot and grabbed the necks of the both Kobolds at once and pulled them away from the mine along the hillside, back into the forest the Kobold in his hands was meant to be watching.
All of this happened in four seconds, timed perfectly as one of the Kobolds a few meters away glanced at the mine just a second later.
Meanwhile, Faust didn't snap his hostage's neck immediately, because of the noise. However, he did drain their attributes and choke them so hard they couldn't even gasp.
He left their bodies behind another bush, killing both once he was far enough.
[You have killed "Small Kobold" and gained 10 experience points.]
[Rewards have been placed in your equipped Spatial Bag.]
No kill notification for the female?
He clicked his tongue. He only had a minute before the Kobold chief came out again. He would think about this later.
He returned to the mine, but within a new position now. Now that the guard at the hillside was gone he could get closer to the mine.
Observe.
His skill highlighted all the enemies, but also something he hadn't noticed before.
There was a trap in front of the mine. It was revealed by how the Kobold footsteps avoided that place. A pit trap covered with a loose spread of dirt that his skill highlighted purple.
Okay. Nice to know that this skill also works with how focused I am on looking for something.
He found two more and marked them with his skill. Even after it deactivated, the traps would still be highlighted.
Before he entered the mine, he tucked his cloak into his trousers to create a makeshift basket at his hip, and pulled out ten of his Blue Slime Acids from his spatial bag.
