Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 The Man the Government Fears

The wind at the eastern harbor carried tension.

A worn bounty poster fluttered in the grip of a soldier, its edges trembling against the cold sea breeze. The face printed on it was unmistakable—sharp eyes, calm yet dangerous, a boy who looked too young to carry such a heavy name.

Zak Zee Zed.

The room fell silent as the man holding the poster stepped forward. He was a senior operative of the Rock Organization, a powerful force operating under direct government authority. His gaze hardened as he studied the image one last time before lowering it.

"Send A and B," he ordered coldly. "This hunt ends now."

No one questioned him. No one dared to.

Because A and B were not ordinary hunters. They were weapons.

Far away, cutting through the sea like a blade through silence, a lone boat reached its destination.

Cyclon Mountain.

It rose like a monstrous pillar from the ocean, its peak hidden behind thick clouds. Ninety-nine floors of power, control, and conquest. A structure that was less a mountain and more a kingdom stacked into the sky.

Zak stepped onto the shore.

Waiting for him were soldiers. Not a few—but an army.

Two Vice Heads stood at the front, their presence alone enough to intimidate most warriors. Behind them, one hundred government soldiers aimed their weapons without hesitation.

And yet—

Zak showed no fear.

Not even a flicker.

"Fire!"

The command echoed.

Gunshots tore through the air.

At the same time, the Vice Heads charged forward, their attacks aimed to crush him instantly.

But Zak didn't move.

He simply raised one finger.

A faint glow gathered at its tip.

Then—

A beam of light shot forward.

In that single moment, everything shifted.

Before anyone could comprehend what had happened, Zak vanished.

The laser didn't just attack—it carried him.

A technique beyond normal understanding.

Laser Travel.

The battlefield descended into chaos. The soldiers' bullets collided with their own allies. The Vice Heads' attacks clashed against each other. Confusion replaced coordination.

By the time they realized it—

It was over.

Bodies dropped. Weapons fell silent. Pain filled the air.

Zak stood behind them.

Untouched.

As he walked past the broken battlefield, his voice remained calm, almost indifferent.

"Don't cross my path again," he said. "Next time, you won't survive."

And just like that—

He moved forward.

At the harbor, whispers spread like wildfire.

"Who… is that?"

"He defeated two Vice Heads… alone?"

"Is he even human?"

Fear had begun to take shape.

And its name was Zak.

Zak continued walking deeper into Cyclon Mountain. But he wasn't alone.

Hidden eyes followed him.

Someone was watching.

Always watching.

After a long path, a massive staircase came into view—the path to the second floor.

But it wasn't unguarded.

Fifteen soldiers stood ready.

Zak didn't slow down.

He stepped forward, clenched his fist slightly, and struck.

A controlled burst of energy—his limited laser punch—ripped through their formation. Not enough to kill, but enough to end the fight instantly.

One by one, they fell.

Without another glance, Zak ascended.

High above, inside the command chambers, the news arrived.

"The Devil Iaaz… has been defeated."

"And the one responsible—Zak Zee Zed—is heading toward Cyclon Mountain."

The man sitting at the center leaned back slowly.

Weez.

One of the three rulers of this mountain.

A faint smile formed on his lips.

"So… Iaaz is dead."

There was no sorrow in his voice.

Only opportunity.

"Good," he muttered. "That makes things simpler. Cyclon Mountain… is mine now."

It was then revealed—

Three individuals ruled this place.

The Devil Iaaz.Weez.And a Vice Captain named Safeer—currently absent, summoned away to Ice Heat Island.

Weez stood up.

"Double the security," he ordered sharply. "Zak Zee Zed must not advance any further."

A trembling soldier stepped forward, barely able to speak.

"Sir… the Vice Heads at the harbor… they've been defeated."

"And… 115 soldiers as well."

"And Zak… is already heading toward the second floor."

Silence.

Then—

"Send all forces to the second and third floors," Weez said, his tone turning colder. "And reinforce floors twelve and thirteen. No mistakes."

The hunt had begun.

Zak stepped onto the second floor.

It was… unexpected.

Instead of a battlefield, a massive market spread before him. Shops, lights, voices—an entire civilization thriving within the mountain.

But something was wrong.

A group of government soldiers surrounded a woman, mocking her, speaking with cruelty that echoed through the street.

Zak stopped.

He didn't like what he heard.

Without a word, he raised his hand.

A flash of light.

The soldiers dropped instantly.

Silence returned.

The woman looked at him, shock and gratitude mixing in her eyes. She stepped toward him, ready to speak—but Zak raised his hand slightly.

A simple gesture.

Stop.

"I just did what was necessary," he said quietly.

Then he walked away.

Moments later—

A gunshot rang out.

Zak turned sharply.

The bullet barely missed him.

And the one holding the gun…

Was the same woman.

"So soon, warrior Zak?" she said, her voice completely different now.

Zak narrowed his eyes.

Then… he smiled.

"I've heard that voice before," he said softly.

A pause.

"Maria."

Her body shifted.

Her appearance changed.

The older woman disappeared, replaced by a girl—no older than fourteen.

Maria smiled.

"It's been a while," she said.

Zak turned fully toward her.

"Yeah… it has."

There was something different in his expression now.

Something lighter.

For the first time since arriving—

He looked… human.

They sat together inside a small restaurant.

Maria leaned forward slightly. "I heard about Querry," she said. "And… you defeated Iaaz."

Zak nodded.

Then asked, "Did you complete the task I gave you?"

Maria smiled. "Of course."

For a brief moment, Zak's mind drifted back.

A memory—

Standing on Wox's ship.

Writing a letter.

Sending it away.

To her.

"I went to Ice Heat," Maria continued. "With Dook. But you weren't there."

Zak exhaled slowly.

"We fought Iaaz near there," he explained. "Took down his men… but not him. We had to escape. Used teleportation."

"Ended up on Forbidden Island."

His eyes darkened slightly.

"We were betrayed there. Querry almost died."

Maria stayed silent.

She already knew the rest.

"Where's Dook?" Zak asked.

"Twelfth floor," she replied. "Waiting."

Zak stood up.

"Then we shouldn't keep him waiting."

But before they could leave—

The restaurant was surrounded.

Government soldiers.

Again.

Maria sighed slightly. "Looks like they want another lesson."

Zak glanced at her.

"You can handle it?"

She smiled.

"Of course."

Zak walked to the counter, placed a few gold coins, picked up some food casually—and stepped outside.

By the time he did—

It was already over.

Every soldier lay defeated.

Maria stood near the entrance.

"Shall we?" she asked.

Zak nodded.

They moved forward together.

Two figures.

Walking into war.

And far above—

The mountain waited.

Because this wasn't the end.

It was only the beginning.

Who is Maria?Who is Dook? And can the government truly stop Zak Zee Zed?

That answer… lies ahead.
