/POP Leto/
When he called his daughter back, she didn't answer. It made him feel uncertain.
"Is… is my daughter… no, no…"He kept calling many times, but she still didn't answer. His face became darker.
He called Zure—his last hope in this desperate situation.
A voice came through the phone."I feel better hearing your voice, Uncle Leto. Is there any problem?"
Leto's anger rose."Are you doing something to hurt my daughter?! Are you?!"
Zure didn't answer. He hesitated."..."
Leto raised his voice."Answer me quickly! I don't have time for your hesitation. Where is my daughter?!"
Zure was very scared."I don't know… after I confessed to her, she rejected me. I'm so sorry. I waited for her to come home, but all night I didn't see her. I called her many times…"
Leto: "Why didn't she come home?"
He was always busy with work, so he rarely went home. And he didn't want to face his daughter because of the guilt he felt.
Zure's voice trembled."Yes… I'm really worried about her. This is my fault for confessing suddenly… I should take responsibility…"He started crying while speaking.
Leto's anger turned into worry for his daughter. He hung up the phone. He held his phone tightly, his hands trembling.
"I don't want to lose my daughter… where is she?"His eyes became watery after a long time. He was crying again, feeling fear and regret.
"This is my fault…"
He rushed to the police station to report the case.
The police officer looked at him and smiled."I've been trying to call you many times, but you didn't answer."
Leto was shocked.[Even the police were trying to call me… something must have happened to my daughter.]
His face turned pale and desperate.
The police officer continued."Don't worry. Nothing bad happened to your daughter."
Leto was in disbelief.
The officer added."She was almost hit by a car, but luckily a boy saved her."
Leto felt guilty.[My daughter must have been so scared… why didn't I know?]
The police officer said, "She is now in the hospital, so don't worry. She is safe."
Leto bowed his head."Thank you so much… you helped me a lot."
The officer smiled."This is my duty."
For the first time in a long time, he felt proud of his job.
Leto hurried to the hospital.
He remembered his last conversation with his daughter.[What is her problem…? Does it relate to me?]
When he got near the room, he told himself:
"I will spend more time with her. Money means nothing if I lose her. I need to thank that boy too."
And then he opened the door—and saw something he never believed his eyes could see.
