Chapter 52 - When You Forgot Me , I Fell Again

Season 2 — Chapter 2: The Distance Between Them

Morning light filtered softly through the hospital window.

Lina woke up slowly.

For a moment, she stayed still, staring at the white ceiling.

Her mind was calm.

Too calm.

Everything had returned.

The accident.

The pain.

The baby.

Adrian pushing her away from the incoming car.

Blood.

Her fingers tightened slightly.

She remembered everything.

And that was the problem.

A soft knock interrupted her thoughts.

"Come in."

Sophia walked in first, followed by Daniel.

"Lina!"

Sophia rushed to her side.

"How are you feeling?"

Lina smiled faintly.

"I'm okay."

Sophia looked relieved.

"You scared us."

Daniel nodded.

"Seriously."

Lina looked at them quietly.

"Sorry."

Sophia hesitated.

"Adrian told us…"

She stopped.

Lina understood.

"The divorce?"

Sophia nodded slowly.

"Are you sure?"

Lina looked down.

"I need time."

Daniel crossed his arms.

"That man hasn't left your side all night."

Lina's heart skipped slightly.

She didn't respond.

Sophia sat beside her.

"You still love him, right?"

Lina stayed silent.

Because the answer was complicated.

She did love him.

But the pain remained.

"I just… need space."

Sophia nodded gently.

"We understand."

Outside the room…

Adrian stood quietly.

He heard everything.

His chest tightened.

But he didn't go in.

Because he knew—

Pushing her now would only push her further away.

Later that afternoon…

The doctor allowed Lina to be discharged.

Adrian arranged everything quietly.

When Lina walked out of the hospital, Adrian was waiting.

Their eyes met.

Silence stretched.

"Let's go home."

His voice was calm.

She nodded.

The drive back was quiet.

Lina stared outside the window.

Adrian occasionally glanced at her.

The silence between them felt heavy.

When they reached the mansion, Lina walked inside slowly.

Everything looked familiar.

But different.

She walked into the living room.

Memories flooded back.

Her laughter.

Their arguments.

Their happy moments.

Her chest tightened.

"I'm going upstairs."

She said softly.

Adrian nodded.

"Rest."

She walked away.

Adrian watched her leave.

His heart felt heavy.

That evening…

Lina sat in the bedroom.

Her old bedroom.

Their bedroom.

She looked around quietly.

Memories filled every corner.

She walked toward the closet.

Opened it.

Her clothes.

His clothes.

Together.

Her fingers trembled slightly.

She slowly took her suitcase.

And began packing.

Just then—

The door opened.

Adrian stood there.

He froze when he saw the suitcase.

"Lina…"

She paused.

"I'm just packing a few things."

His chest tightened.

"I thought you said you'd stay."

"I am."

She answered calmly.

"But I'm moving to the guest room."

Silence fell.

Adrian's hands clenched slightly.

"You don't have to."

She looked at him.

"I do."

Her calm tone hurt more than anger.

He sighed quietly.

"Okay."

She nodded.

"Thank you."

She continued packing.

Adrian stayed there.

Watching her.

Then he spoke softly—

"Do you hate me?"

She paused.

Then shook her head.

"No."

His chest tightened.

"Then…"

She looked at him.

"I just need time."

He nodded slowly.

"I'll wait."

She didn't answer.

But her heart trembled slightly.

Later that night…

Lina moved into the guest room.

She closed the door quietly.

Then leaned against it.

Her calm expression faded.

Tears filled her eyes.

She covered her mouth.

Trying not to cry.

Because leaving him—

Hurt more than she expected.

Meanwhile…

Adrian sat alone in his study.

The house felt empty.

He looked at the photo frame on his desk.

Their wedding photo.

He picked it up slowly.

"I'm not giving up…"

He whispered.

"I'll win you back."

Just then—

Lucas knocked and entered.

"Boss."

Adrian looked up.

"What is it?"

Lucas looked serious.

"We found Marcus."

Adrian's eyes darkened.

"Where?"

Lucas handed him a file.

"He's planning something."

Adrian opened it.

His expression turned cold.

"What is he planning?"

Lucas hesitated.

"He's targeting Mrs. Harrison."

Adrian froze.

"What?"

Lucas nodded.

"Looks like… he's not done yet."

Adrian's eyes turned dangerous.

"This time…"

His voice turned cold.

"I won't let him get close."
