Chapter 46 - When You Forgot Me , I Fell Again

Chapter 46: The Doctor's Truth

The air inside the living room grew heavy after Adrian ended the call.

Lina stared at him, her heart pounding faster than before.

"The doctor… wants to meet?" she asked quietly.

Adrian nodded slowly.

"Yes."

Sophia immediately leaned forward.

"This could be important."

Daniel frowned.

"Or dangerous."

Adrian remained calm, but his eyes were serious.

"I need to go."

Lina stepped closer.

"I'm coming with you."

He hesitated.

But this time—

He didn't refuse.

"Okay."

Sophia crossed her arms.

"Then we're coming too."

Adrian shook his head.

"No. If too many people go, it might scare him."

Daniel sighed.

"Then at least tell us the location."

Adrian nodded.

"I will."

An hour later…

Adrian and Lina drove quietly through the city.

Neither spoke.

The tension filled the car.

Lina's fingers rested tightly in her lap.

She felt nervous.

Because this meeting could change everything.

Adrian glanced at her.

"You okay?"

She nodded slowly.

"Just… anxious."

He reached over.

Gently held her hand.

"I'm here."

Her heart softened.

She nodded.

They arrived at a quiet café near the outskirts of the city.

It looked old.

Almost forgotten.

Inside, only a few customers sat quietly.

A middle-aged man sat at the corner table.

He looked nervous.

When Adrian approached, the man stood up.

"Mr. Harrison."

Adrian nodded.

"You called."

The man looked at Lina.

"And… Mrs. Harrison."

Lina felt slightly surprised.

He recognized her.

"Please… sit."

They sat across from him.

"I'm Dr. Lewis," he introduced himself.

Adrian spoke calmly.

"You treated us after the accident."

Dr. Lewis nodded.

"Yes."

Lina's heart pounded.

"Why did you call us?"

Dr. Lewis hesitated.

Then sighed.

"Because… I think you deserve the truth."

Silence filled the table.

Adrian leaned forward slightly.

"Start talking."

Dr. Lewis lowered his voice.

"The accident… was more complicated than you think."

Lina's breath caught.

"What do you mean?"

Dr. Lewis looked at Adrian.

"You didn't just lose your memory."

Adrian frowned.

"What?"

Dr. Lewis continued.

"Your memories were intentionally suppressed."

Lina's heart stopped.

"So… it's true?"

Dr. Lewis nodded slowly.

"Yes."

Adrian clenched his fists.

"Who approved it?"

Dr. Lewis hesitated.

Then quietly answered—

"You did."

Silence exploded.

Lina froze.

Adrian's eyes widened.

"I… did?"

Dr. Lewis nodded.

"You requested it."

Lina's heart tightened painfully.

"Why?"

Dr. Lewis looked at them both.

"Because… you were emotionally unstable."

Adrian frowned.

"Explain."

Dr. Lewis sighed.

"After the accident… Mrs. Harrison woke up first."

Lina listened carefully.

"You couldn't remember anything."

Her fingers trembled slightly.

"You were confused… scared…"

Dr. Lewis continued.

"Mr. Harrison woke up later."

Adrian listened quietly.

"You remembered everything."

Adrian's eyes widened.

"I remembered…?"

Dr. Lewis nodded.

"Yes."

Lina felt dizzy.

"So… he remembered me?"

Dr. Lewis nodded.

"But…"

The word hung heavy.

"But what?"

Dr. Lewis hesitated.

"Mr. Harrison… was in shock."

Adrian frowned.

"Why?"

Dr. Lewis spoke softly.

"Because… you discovered something before the accident."

Lina's chest tightened.

"What…?"

Dr. Lewis hesitated again.

Then said quietly—

"You discovered Mr. Harrison meeting another woman."

Lina's heart shattered.

Adrian froze.

"Emily…"

Dr. Lewis nodded slowly.

"Yes."

Silence fell.

Lina's breathing became uneven.

"So… I thought he betrayed me…"

Dr. Lewis nodded.

"You were emotionally unstable."

Adrian looked confused.

"But why suppress my memory?"

Dr. Lewis looked at him carefully.

"Because… you blamed yourself."

Adrian frowned.

"For what?"

Dr. Lewis spoke softly.

"You thought… if you didn't meet Emily… the accident wouldn't happen."

Adrian's chest tightened.

"You kept repeating…"

Dr. Lewis paused.

"'This is my fault… she got hurt because of me.'"

Lina's eyes filled slightly.

Adrian lowered his gaze.

"I… said that?"

Dr. Lewis nodded.

"You were overwhelmed."

Silence filled the table.

Then—

Dr. Lewis added quietly—

"And… there's something else."

Adrian looked up.

"What?"

Dr. Lewis's voice lowered.

"The accident… might not have been accidental."

Both Lina and Adrian froze.

"What?"

Dr. Lewis nodded slowly.

"The truck driver… disappeared."

Lina's heart pounded violently.

"Disappeared…?"

Dr. Lewis nodded.

"He vanished after the accident."

Adrian's eyes darkened.

"You think… someone planned it?"

Dr. Lewis hesitated.

"I don't know… but…"

He lowered his voice.

"Emily visited you both at the hospital."

Silence fell.

Lina's breath caught.

"She did?"

Dr. Lewis nodded.

"Yes."

Adrian frowned.

"I don't remember that."

Dr. Lewis sighed.

"She spoke privately with Mr. Harrison."

Lina's heart tightened.

"Privately?"

Dr. Lewis nodded.

"And after that…"

He paused.

"You requested memory suppression."

The words hit hard.

Adrian's mind spun.

"You think… she manipulated me?"

Dr. Lewis didn't answer.

But his silence spoke enough.

Lina's fingers trembled.

"So… Emily might be behind everything…"

Adrian's eyes turned cold.

"I need to confirm this."

Dr. Lewis nodded.

"There's more."

Adrian frowned.

"What?"

Dr. Lewis lowered his voice again.

"Mrs. Harrison…"

Lina looked at him.

"Yes?"

"You were pregnant."

Silence exploded.

Lina froze.

Adrian's eyes widened.

"What?"

Dr. Lewis nodded slowly.

"You were pregnant… before the accident."

Lina's world spun.

"I… was…?"

Dr. Lewis nodded.

"But…"

Her heart trembled.

"But what?"

Dr. Lewis looked down.

"You lost the baby… during the accident."

Lina felt like the world collapsed.

Her vision blurred.

"No…"

Tears filled her eyes.

Adrian froze completely.

His chest tightened painfully.

"I… lost… our baby…?"

Dr. Lewis nodded quietly.

Silence filled the café.

Heavy.

Painful.

Adrian reached for Lina's hand.

She trembled.

Her tears fell silently.

"I… didn't even know…"

Her voice broke.

Adrian's heart shattered.

"I'm sorry…"

He whispered.

She shook her head.

"You didn't know…"

But the pain remained.

Deep.

Sharp.

Dr. Lewis spoke softly.

"This is why… you both were emotionally unstable."

Lina wiped her tears slowly.

"So… we forgot everything…"

Dr. Lewis nodded.

"Yes."

Adrian clenched his fists.

His eyes darkened.

"Emily…"

Because now—

Everything pointed to her.

And this time—

He wouldn't let her escape.
