Chapter 27 - When You Forgot Me , I Fell Again

Chapter 27: The Kiss That Changed Everything

Lina's heart pounded wildly as she rushed to her room.

Her fingers trembled slightly as she closed the door behind her.

She leaned against it.

Her breathing uneven.

Her mind replayed the moment again and again.

Adrian's eyes.

His touch.

The warmth of his lips.

Her cheeks flushed deeply.

She slowly touched her lips.

Her heart raced again.

"Why…"

She whispered softly.

Why did he kiss her?

And why…

Did she not push him away?

Her chest tightened.

Because she didn't hate it.

Because she liked it.

That realization made her even more confused.

She sat slowly on the bed.

Her thoughts tangled.

Adrian didn't remember loving her.

He had someone he loved before.

Then why…

Why did he kiss her?

Meanwhile…

Adrian stood in the living room.

Frozen.

Silent.

His hand still touching his lips.

He couldn't believe what he had just done.

He wasn't planning it.

He wasn't thinking.

He simply…

Followed his instinct.

His heart still raced.

He sat down slowly.

His mind replayed the kiss.

Her soft lips.

Her trembling hands.

Her flushed cheeks.

His chest tightened.

He didn't regret it.

Not even a little.

But he was worried.

Did he scare her?

Did he push her away?

Just then—

He heard footsteps upstairs.

Sophia stood there.

Her expression calm.

But her eyes cold.

"I didn't know you could be so impulsive."

Adrian looked up.

His expression turned cold instantly.

"You were watching?"

Sophia smiled faintly.

"I came to visit… and saw everything."

Silence filled the room.

Sophia walked down slowly.

"You kissed her."

Her voice quiet.

"But you don't even remember loving her."

Adrian frowned.

"That doesn't matter."

Sophia's eyes darkened slightly.

"Doesn't it?"

She stepped closer.

"You loved me once."

Adrian remained silent.

"I don't remember."

Her lips curved slightly.

"But your body remembers."

She whispered softly.

Adrian's expression hardened.

"That's enough."

Sophia stopped.

She smiled faintly.

"I just don't want you to regret later."

Adrian's voice turned cold.

"I won't."

Sophia's fingers tightened slightly.

But she remained calm.

"Let's see."

She turned and left.

Her expression darkened as soon as she stepped outside.

Things were getting out of control.

She needed to act faster.

That night…

Lina stayed in her room.

She avoided Adrian.

Dinner was quiet.

Awkward.

Their eyes met occasionally.

Then quickly looked away.

The tension between them was thick.

Mrs. Blake noticed.

But she said nothing.

After dinner—

Lina quickly went upstairs.

Adrian watched her leave.

His chest tightened.

He followed slowly.

He stopped outside her door.

Then knocked softly.

"Lina."

Silence.

He knocked again.

"Lina…"

After a moment—

The door opened slowly.

She stood there.

Her cheeks still slightly pink.

"Yes?"

He looked at her quietly.

"We need to talk."

She hesitated.

Then nodded.

He stepped inside.

They stood facing each other.

Neither spoke for a moment.

Then Adrian spoke softly.

"About earlier…"

Her heart skipped.

"I…"

She looked down.

He stepped closer.

"I didn't plan it."

Her fingers tightened slightly.

"But…"

He paused.

"I don't regret it."

Her heart pounded loudly.

She looked up slowly.

His eyes were serious.

"Do you… regret it?"

Her breathing became uneven.

She shook her head slowly.

"No…"

His chest tightened.

He stepped closer.

"Lina…"

She looked at him.

Her eyes soft.

Confused.

He raised his hand gently.

Tucked her hair behind her ear.

Her heart raced.

Their faces moved closer again.

The atmosphere turned warm.

Quiet.

Then suddenly—

Lina stepped back.

"I… I need time."

Her voice soft.

Adrian froze.

Then nodded slowly.

"Okay."

He stepped back.

"I'll wait."

Her heart warmed slightly.

He turned and walked toward the door.

Before leaving—

He looked at her once more.

Then left quietly.

Lina sat slowly on the bed.

Her heart still racing.

She whispered softly—

"Why do you make my heart like this…"

Meanwhile…

Sophia sat in her car.

Her expression cold.

She picked up her phone.

"I want you to investigate Daniel."

Her voice calm.

"I need everything."

She ended the call.

Her lips curved slightly.

"If jealousy isn't enough…"

Her eyes darkened.

"I'll create something bigger."

Because Sophia wasn't ready to lose.

Not yet.

The next morning…

Lina came downstairs.

She looked nervous.

Adrian was already there.

Their eyes met.

Silence.

Then he spoke softly.

"Morning."

"Morning."

The tension remained.

But something changed.

Something softer.

Warmer.

Just then—

The doorbell rang.

Lina walked to the door.

She opened it.

Her eyes widened.

Daniel stood there.

Smiling.

"Good morning."

But behind him—

Another woman stood.

Beautiful.

Elegant.

Her eyes sharp.

Daniel spoke softly.

"Lina… this is my fiancée."

Lina froze.

Her heart skipped.

And behind her—

Adrian's eyes darkened instantly.

Because something told him—

This situation…

Would change everything again.
