The man stood staring at her with a side eye.
He was already angry at this point did this idiot think she could just walk into the set of a very important movie and claim to be something she was not.
Everyone clearly saw that the assistant of director Xu choosed Esther Williams.
And now this fool thinks she can decieve anyone.
"Are you insane..... Do you really think everyone is an idiot..... You aren't even fit for show business." He yelled angrily at her.
Making her stare at him in shock or could it be that the person that called her yesterday was a scammer.
"Sir.... I swear I'm not telling a lie.... This is the official number of Mr Xu assistant." She brought out her phone showing him the call logs of yesterday.
She was really scared she didn't even know how to prove her innocence.
The man simply refused to stare at the phone screen, so he simply slapped it out of her hand.
"Do you think I'm stupid." He roared.
Raising his hand again he was about to give her a harsh slap.
She closed her eyes in fear already breathing heavily waiting for the stinging pain.
She waited and waited for seconds but nothing came making her slowly open her eyes.
Only to see the man hands being held in the air by another strong arms.
"How dare you!!!!!!" The thunderous voice came behind her making her turn in fear.
Only to see Mr Xu Kai standing there with a very angry face.
He looked like a lion ready to feed on his prey.
Everywhere in the set immediately became tensed.
Of course everyone knew how cold and dangerous the director can be.
He was a strict young man that even people that were older than him were always afraid.
"M...r ...X....u." the man stuttered in fear.
"In my movie set... You dare to raise your hand on a woman.!!!" He yelled thunderously again.
Then man gulped in fear that means he would definitely loose his job.
And even be blacklisted from the industry.
Was it a bad time to actually regret why he was born in the first place.
He was standing face to face with death and poverty.
He almost peed in his pants.
Everywhere was drop dead silent not even a sound was heard asides the chirping birds in the sky.
"Sir.... My apologies she came here to impersonate the leading actress sir..... It was a mistake I didn't mean to....." The man struggled to speak.
This made Xu Kai turn to look at Cheng Xiao only to see her staring at the him in fear.
She didn't want to get into trouble but she was told to come to the movie set as she was the leading actress.
"I..." She was about to speak but he beat her to it.
"Assistant Zhao... What is the meaning of this." His deep voice made his assistant swallow heavily.
Bowing in respect..
"I had forgotten to inform Ms Esther Williams about the change of decision...... So she came here as per the contract requirements." He bowed sweating as heavily as if he'd produce a water factory.
He was also scared because it was incompetence on his part.
The man who's hands were still held tightly by Xu Kai swallowed again.
"Change of decision." He whispered in fear as he slowly stared at Cheng Xiao.
That means she was actually the leading actress.
Getting on his knees immediately he began crying even if he was a middle aged man with a pot belly..
He would definitely die if he loosed this job .
"Sir..... Mr Xu I had no idea none of us in the set team was informed."
He begged over and over again but Xu Kai kept a straight face.
"That doesn't give you the fuckin right to raise your hand on a woman and you all stood there watching whatever was happening."
His attention shifted to them and all of them swallowed heavily.
Now everyone was dead .
There's no turning back everyone was really dead.
Who would dare speak up at a time like this.
"She's the female lead Esther Williams is fired and so are you." He looked down at the man that was on his knees..
"Wh.....a....t." he struggled to say.
"Get out of my set." He walked away with his hands in his pockets everyone was shocked at a go he cancelled two people.
"Everyone get ready to take positions in 30 minutes." He said one last time and walked away.
Immediately his back disappeared everyone got busy running forward and backward.
Cheng Xiao just stood there unable to move at all she was confused on what to do.
She already read the script and even read the novel 'WHITE LOTUS. 'But she did not have any idea in how to makeup and costume .
She was confused.
"Hey you must be Cheng Xiao ." A girl ran up to her.
She nodded immediately.
"Yeah I am Cheng Xiao." She responded immediately with a smile as she stared at the girl.
The girl immediately dragged her forward going towards a tent.
She didn't even have the time to say a word.
She was suddenly pushed inside.
Immediately she stepped her feets inside the tent another person dragged her and made her seat on a chair.
And then another person dragged the hair band away from her hair.
Making her hair which was tied in a ponytail fall freely on her back.
With some strands falling right in front of her face.
Her hair was real long, she could easily pass for REPUNZEL.
"Wooow." They said in unison.
She was indeed beautiful even more beautiful than Esther Williams she was a beauty to behold.
It's just that she didn't have the fame but it would definitely be changed.
Because once she gets in camera they'll love her immediately.
And again the rush began.
One was on her face fixing her make-up.
She was naturally beautiful so she didn't even need heavy foundation on her face.
Just a little and everything was already perfect.
For the first time the makeup artist felt at ease doing her job.
She didn't have to cover pimples or sunburn.
Or any scars.
"You're really pretty." The lady said.
While the other person who had been struggling with her hair also COMMENTed on her beauty.
"You look like an angel.... You're even way more beautiful than that Esther." She said scornfully..
Well as the saying goes not everyone would like you.
And not everyone fell for the fake face Esther always carried around.
Her fake smiles, her fake image of kindness and even her fake life of luxury.
Sure she had fame but did fame really count as wealth.
"Thank you so much." She said excitedly good admiration meant she'd be able to be good at this role and she was glad she got their support.
"But are you dating Mr Xu..... Because you are so lucky to catch his attention..... He's so hot." One of them said again making her swallow hard.
"Did you sleep with Mr Xu..... Tell me how was it."
The questions kept flooding in and weird enough they were shameless questions.
Did everyone really think that it was normal to be shameless.
She didn't even know what to say so she just tried to fake a smile and nod her head when she could.
"Don't be shy after all he doesn't have a girlfriend...." They said.

Those words entered her ears making her scared.
She was scared because if he was actually married that meant she might have a scandal but despite her fear she managed to keep a calm face.
"Okay she's ready." They said making the other workers take a pause and stare at her.
She was really breathtaking.
Her white skin complemented the red dress she wore she really looked like the female lead according to the description in the novel.
"I'll help you tie the belt." The costume designer walked towards her with a smile Cheng Xiao knew her.
She was very famous for one thing and that was making beautiful fashion clothes..
"Ms lee .....it's an honor to meet you in person.... "She smiled so excited.
" You too."she paused as she moved behind cheng Xiao helping her with the belt of the dress(Kimono)
"You look more beautiful than what they described. "
The woman finally said with a kind smile making Cheng Xiao feel at ease.
This was the first time since she got here that someone was actually nice to her.
" Now let's all move out and give Ms Cheng some space to get ready for the shoot. "The woman walked out as all the staffs also walked out with their head bowed in respect.
Cheng Xiao turned and stared at herself in the mirror.
Taking a deep breath.
This was her first role as a female lead.
Her big first role.
This was really going to change her life.
While smiling at the mirror she suddenly heard some foot steps approaching.
At right at that moment the belt on the gown immediately loosened.
She stood up trying to tie it back again she didn't even bother to check who walked in as she thought it was just one of the staffs.
"Please could you help me .....I don't think I can tie it properly." She said while struggling with the belt.
Soon she felt the hands help her with it.
Making her smile.
"Thank you..... everyone here is so nice." She turned still smiling but immediately she saw the person she was smiling at the smile immediately disappeared.
"Mr Xu..... What are you doing here." She asked staring at him intently.
But he just stared at her blankly as if trying so hard not to say whatever was in his head.
How could he expose himself now.
She really looked like a godess.
Exactly the same as the character in the book.
She was really the white lotus.
He had always longed make her his forever but then the way she had left back then.
And here she was looking all innocent.
"Mr Xu." Her soft voice broke him out of his reverie as his eyes left her eyes and focused on her lips.
They were really calling his name.
"Do you know how to apply the lipstick on your lips again.?" He asked as he kept taking slow threatening steps towards her.
"I c...an tr....y." She was confused why was he even asking her that kind of question.
She couldn't even blink the next second he carried her and placed her on the desk where the makeup artists kept their tools.
And without warning he captured her lips.
Making her eyes go wide.
She placed her hand on his shoulders trying to push him away but he only grabbed her waist pulling her closer.
Her chest was pressed on his own as If he wanted them to be in one body.
She was running outbof breath so she used all her energy and pushed him away.
Breathing heavily as she stared at him but he didn't look like someone who was gonna give you anytime soon...
So he captured her lips again.
This time slow and steady sucking from her upper lips down to her lower lip.
The kissing sounds were everywhere in the tent and if someone stood outside they'd definitely hear it.
It wasn't something you could control how could you control desires.
I mean he had loved the girl for a long time.
While kissing her, his mind somehow took him back to when he first confessed to her.
Her reactions back then hurt him so much.
He knew she wouldn't remember.
Out of anger and annoyance he bit her lips hard until he could feel the cold liquid of blood on his lips.
"Ouch." She winced in pain.
He let go of her lips then licked the blood stains.
"You have five minutes to prepare for the first scene." He turned and walked out without another word.
Leaving her there with injured lips.
She frowned as she stared at his back..
Who did he think he was to just use her like that.
"It hurts." She licked her lower lips as she searched for the red lipstick the makeup artists had put on her earlier.
She had to make sure she covered it but she knew she might not be able to.
