[Sun Wukong: Hah! What a pathetic mortal! Can't even survive fighting the weakest of demons.]
"…." Cain looked at the golden interface with a blank expression.
He was dying, and the system's emergency protocol was to find someone to witness it and ridicule him?
How helpful.
The golden interface popped up again as a chat the screen appeared before him.
[Sun Wukong: Tch, fine. Since you're so boringly weak, this Great Sage will lend you a hand, just this once!]
[Donation Received.]
[Sun Wukong has donated: Temporary Authority — "Great Sage Equal to Heaven"]

[Compatibility Check… Passed.]
[Warning: Mortal Vessel Under Extreme Stress.]
[Authority Synchronization… Initiated.]
"Authority?" Cain muttered, barely conscious at this point.
The interface had turned completely blurry and he could only read a few words from it, he slowly slipped into unconsciousness and as he did, time also resumed its normal flow.
But before he could full black out,
BOOM!
A bolt of golden lightning suddenly struck into his building, directly hitting him, turning any and all monsters rushing at him to charred bits.
The ones outside the lightning's impact range were immediately blasted out the building.
Cain's entire apartment was filled with a golden glow, pulling the attention of most of the monsters around.
Most weaker ones immediately fled away from the building, preferring to either go back into the vortex or chase humans that were multiple blocks away as a heavy aura fell on the surrounding area.
BOOM!
[Sun Wukong: That's it, weak mortal, entertain this Great sage!]
With the explosion, a streak of light suddenly blasted out the hole opened by the monsters.
The streak of light suddenly landed just outside the apartment building, creating a massive crater on the concrete beneath him.
The monsters around cautiously looked towards the crater as the golden light slowly died down.
Revealed was Cain, but he was now visibly very different.
The first obvious change was the fact that he had suddenly grown side burns, but that wasn't the weirdest one.
His grey eyes had turned completely golden and so did his vision, there was also a golden metallic headband on his forehead.
And lastly, he now had a tail?
"This feels awesome," he muttered as he looked at his hand, clenching and unclenching his fist rapidly.
The sheer amount of power flowing through him right now was enough to make him feel as if he'd explode at any second but at the same time, he felt as if he was high.
The sensation was addicting.
The chat screen suddenly popped up at the side of his vision again, pulling him out of his power high.
[Sun Wukong: Of course it is, now entertain this Great sage properly.]
"Right," Cain nodded as he recalled that he still had an audience, and as a top streamer...well, former top streamer, he would ensure that his viewer was entertained.
He lifted his hand towards his left ear, seemingly pinching something out.
At first glance, it seemed like he was only pulling on air, but the moment his hand landed by his side,
WHOOOOM!
Something suddenly appeared within his hand....or rather, it suddenly changed from an almost invisible size to a larger one.
The object was revealed to be a staff of some sort, and another notification from the system immediately told him what staff it was.
[Weapon Synchronization Complete.]
[Authority Link Established: Ruyi Jingu Bang (Partial Manifestation)]
With a grin, Cain lifted the staff and placed it on his shoulder as he looked at the monsters.
"Alright then," he muttered with a smile, "let's make this a quick run."
A moment after his words,
BOOM!
A large crater was formed behind him as he disappeared again, reappearing in front of the first monster with his staff already swinging.
The golden staff started vibrating and the moment it slammed into the monster, its entire torso was completely blown off.
But that wasn't the end of the attack as the next second, it doubled in size aiming for the other monsters in the distance.
Just like the first, every monster that came in contact with the staff was immediately obliterated and by the time the staff returned to its normal size, the entire surroundings around him had been cleared.
"Did I overdo it?" Cain muttered, looking at the results of his attack, but the next moment, he chuckled and shook his head, "nah."
[Sun Wukong has donated 500 Stream Points!]
[Shop Unlocked: Basic Authority Store (Temporary)]
[Current Balance: 500 SP]
"Thank you for the donation, Great sage," he said with a chuckle as he looked at the screen before him.
It has been a while since he truly appreciated a donation, but this one made him get the same feeling he had when he was just starting out,
Excitement.
But he was soon snapped out of his thoughts as the system reminded him that he was still running on a timer.
[Time Remaining: 00:04:30]
He wanted to say something, but the next second, a scream was heard from afar caused his ears to twitch.
"Help!"
"Hmm?" Cain looked in the direction of the scream as his eyes started glowing and his vision started zooming forward, literally.
It didn't take long for him to spot a small group huddled together as a group of centipede monsters approached them.
Without much thought, he suddenly disappeared.
***
"Help!" A girl screamed as she tightly held a kitchen knife in her grip.
A small distance away from her was their older brother, who was trying his hardest to keep them safe.
But even he had his limits.
There were multiple cuts riddled all over his, now shirtless, body and yet, he hadn't even managed to take down a single centipede.
Still, he couldn't let his younger siblings worry,so he slightly turned his head towards them.
"Don't worry," he muttered with a smile, "I'm sure the cops or even military will arrive soon, I'll be able to hold on until then."
That was obviously a lie, but at least it worked to make them a bit less panicked.
Unfortunately for him, pulling his attention from the centipedes was a big mistake, as the next second, one of them immediately lunged at him.
He turned around a bit too late, as the multiple legged creature was already close to his face, its mandibles already wide open.
The older brother closed his eyes, waiting for the pain, but even after a few seconds, he felt nothing.
"Shouldn't you keep your eyes on the enemy whilst fighting?" A voice suddenly spoke up.
Slowly, the older brother opened his eyes and standing just ahead of him was a boy who seemed no older than him, with a tail??
In his hand was a golden staff which he casually leaned on, with a slight grin on his face.
All around him, the centipedes that were previously about to attack were laying dead...or at least most of them, save for three.
The boy, Cain, looked at the two girls behind the older brother before turning back to the boy.
"I left three of these things alive," Cain started as he looked at the twitching centipedes on the ground, "killing them should probably help you awaken."
The older brother looked down at the twitching centipedes and back at the monkey boy.
Although he didn't know who this stranger was, he couldn't deny that it was only thanks to him that he was currently alive.
So the older brother bowed slightly and started, "t-thank y—"
But before his words could be completed, Cain interrupted as he turned around, "later!"
"W-wait!" One of the girls behind the older brother called out, but it was too late, Cain had already disappeared in a blast of wind.
"W-who the hell is that guy?" The girl muttered before she suddenly recalled something, "ah, right!"
She then turned to the girl behind her and asking, "a-are you okay?"
"Hmm," the girl nodded before adding, "I think I know him."
"Really?" The older brother finally turned towards them.
"Hmm," the girl nodded again, "t-that's Cain the streamer."

Whilst the three tried figuring the identity of their savior, said savior was rushing through waves of monsters, letting out a maniacal laughter.
The grin on his face made one wonder if he truly was one of the good guys.
[Sun Wukong:That's more like it Mortal!! Crush them all]
Yeah, maybe a battle maniac of a god was not the greatest of influences.
Still, Cain was truly enjoying this.
But all that was interrupted when he was suddenly forced to dodge a fist that was aimed at his head.
He quickly regained his balance and looked towards the attacker that had been fast enough to react to him.
The moment his eyes settled on it, Cain chuckled.
"I'm guessing you're the boss monster?" He muttered and his reply soon came.
ROAR!!!
