After work, Lucien packed his belongings, intending to head home early to get some rest. However, as he walked past meeting room number two, he suddenly spotted Ethan standing there talking to Howard. The two of them were laughing and chatting happily, evidently on very intimate terms. Howard patted Ethan on the shoulder, his voice booming so loudly that even through the closed doors, Lucien could still hear him: "Great job, you are truly the pillar of the design department. I will recommend a salary increase for you to the higher-ups during this year-end performance review.".
Ethan smiled brightly, bowing his head to thank Howard. At this moment, Ethan's gaze happened to drift toward the corridor, catching sight of Lucien walking by. Consequently, the smile on Ethan's lips widened even further, as if he were savoring the taste of victory and deliberately flaunting his triumph right in front of Lucien.
