Lucien watched his retreating figure, the faint smile on his lips still unextinguished. He leaned down, picked up the stack of documents on the table, flipped through a few pages, and then set them back down.
"Alright then...." He whispered: "Keep being confident. The more confident you are, the easier you will stumble and fall."
Returning to his desk, Lucien saw that Mark was already standing there waiting for him. The young man appeared incredibly restless, his hands anxiously fiddling with his familiar small notebook. Seeing Lucien return, Mark hurriedly pulled him over to a secluded corner near the pantry.
"I just saw the concept that Ethan submitted." Mark said, his voice dropped so low as if he were terrified someone might overhear: "That is your work, is it not? I recognized the composition and the core ideas. It belongs to you. So why is Ethan's name on it? Why didn't you say anything?"
