Chapter 11 - the final zone and the admin,s shadow

The blue zone wasn't blue anymore; it had turned into a searing wall of white static that deleted everything it touched. Only a small circle remained in the center of the Military Base bridge. The countdown in the sky was at 60 seconds.

"Michael, we're the last two left against the System's final guardian!" John shouted, dodging a barrage of high-tech rockets.

Standing at the end of the bridge was a figure unlike any other. It didn't have a nameplate. It was a towering, translucent avatar of the Senior Admin, glowing with golden data streams. This wasn't a bot; it was a manual intervention.

"You don't belong here, Michael," the Admin's voice resonated directly in Michael's mind. "You are a ghost in a machine that requires perfection. I will purge you myself."

The Admin raised a hand, and the ground beneath Michael began to dissolve into empty void. Michael felt his digital legs slipping. He knew standard weapons wouldn't work on a literal god of the game. He looked at John, then at the M24 sniper rifle on his back. He knew what he had to do—the "Sky-Launch" trick they practiced as a joke years ago.

Michael didn't speak. He dropped a frag grenade at his own feet and timed it perfectly. Just as it exploded, he jumped, using the blast to propel himself high into the air, over the Admin's defensive shields.

In mid-air, time seemed to slow down. Michael pulled the bolt on his M24. His vision bypassed the Admin's golden aura and saw the core code—the "Heart" of the avatar.

"For the duo," Michael thought.

*BOOM!*

The shot rang out like thunder. The bullet, infused with Michael's own corrupted data, struck the core. The Admin's avatar let out a digital scream as it began to fracture and shatter into a million golden shards.

[SYSTEM MESSAGE: WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!]

The victory music started to play, but it was distorted. The world began to fade to white. John reached out his hand, trying to grab Michael's glowing arm.

"I've got you, Michael! Don't let go!"

But the server reset had begun.
