Seeing the snake and hearing the cry for help, the first thing that came to Faye Yardley's mind was the fable of the farmer and the snake. She had no intention of playing the farmer. She simply grabbed the snake with her right hand, yanked, and threw it away—a perfectly smooth motion.
The large trees on the side of the track were actually shooting fruit to attack the toy cars. A sudden hit could easily startle a driver, separating them from their vehicle. After tumbling off, they would likely become dessert for the large-mouthed flame flowers waiting below the track.
Faye Yardley couldn't worry about all that. Her priority was to survive this thrilling game.
She was one of the racers at the very front, while Bonnie Callahan, who had fallen to the back of the pack, was having a much more complicated time.
Her small-sized off-road vehicle gave her a slight advantage over the other small toy cars.
