She quickly ran off, using a pillar for cover, and transformed into a grimy doll by the side of the road.
"What? You think we can't do anything to you just because you're hiding behind a pillar?"
After waiting for a while without seeing Josie emerge, she turned to the woman beside her. "You go take a look."
The woman who was called out had no choice. She hunched her shoulders and cautiously circled around, peeking behind the pillar from a distance.
The sight made her freeze. "Stella, there's no one behind the pillar at all."
"No one? How is that possible?"
Hazel Payne went to check for herself. The area behind the pillar was completely empty. Aside from some miscellaneous junk on the ground, there was no sign of anyone.
But she had clearly seen the woman hide here.
