Lynn Fletcher flinched. Her lips parted and closed, but in the end, she swallowed whatever she was about to say.


Silas retracted his gaze and deliberately gave Lynn Fletcher a wide berth as he walked to the passenger's side and got in.


The heavy slam of the car door kicked up a gust of wind that blew Lynn Fletcher's hair away from her pale face.


In the blink of an eye, the car had vanished, leaving only a cloud of exhaust that washed over Lynn Fletcher's face, sending her into a coughing fit.

Inside the car, Holly Wyatt leaned against the window. Peering through the dark exhaust at Lynn Fletcher's sorry state, she couldn't help but smile.
