Holly Wyatt's eyes widened. In disbelief, she looked down at Snowy's excited face and clamped a hand over the little girl's mouth. Then, she glanced around and sighed in relief when she saw no other wolves.
Snowy's chubby little face was squished by Holly's hand. She shook her head, her wolf ears twitching back and forth, and struggled with all her might to break free.
Holly stared at her, a nervous expression on her face as she pressed a finger to her lips. "Shhh..."
Snowy tilted her head, not understanding. She blinked, but still cooperated by mimicking the gesture. "Shhh..."
Holly quickly pulled Snowy into the deserted back garden, took out her phone, and switched it to text-to-speech mode. "Snowy, you can't say baseless things like that in the future. It's not right."
The cold, mechanical voice held an odd hint of bashfulness.
Snowy tilted her head in confusion. "But that's what everyone is saying," she said, puzzled. "All the wolves in the manor know about it."
