Choked by the masked man's retort, Admiral Fletcher's face turned a ghastly shade. It shifted between pale and livid, like a terrifying, shifting palette.
"Morgan… Victor, what's wrong with her?" Hector Reginald asked, his concern mounting as he saw Morgan being carried back.
Victor Ashworth glanced at Timothy Reginald, hesitating, unsure how to begin. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the masked man standing to the side. When their eyes met, Victor felt a sudden, inexplicable sense of familiarity from the man's gaze.
