"Holly, come on, drink your medicine."
Tristan Sterling helped the drowsy Holly Sinclair sit up, letting her lean comfortably against his chest as he coaxed her softly.
"I don't want it," Holly resisted. She was so sleepy she could barely open her eyes, instinctively turning her head to avoid it.
The bitter taste was one reason.
More importantly, she had a baby in her belly. People always say all medicine is poison to some degree, so she couldn't just take anything.
"You have a cold. You need to take your medicine."
"I said I don't want it!"
"Don't be scared. This is a very gentle herbal medicine. It won't affect the baby."
He explained gently, as if he knew exactly what she was worried about.
Her situation was delicate right now. If he weren't absolutely certain it was safe, he wouldn't dare give it to her.
