Jason Forrester couldn't even make sense of his own heart. He had left the room for reasons he couldn't quite fathom, and he had no idea how to resolve the situation.
Right now, he just felt hollow inside, unable to tell right from wrong.
He didn't know what a final resolution to this matter would even look like.
After Jason Forrester left, Megan Kane let out a heavy sigh of relief. 'It's best if we don't have a relationship anymore.'
'Any kind of relationship at all. It's better not to say anything more about it.'
'After all, with things as they are, the best possible outcome is for us to stay apart.'
'If we try to force things, who knows what direction this will all go in.'
'So it's better for us both to just stay calm and let this be the end of it.'
Jason Forrester stood outside the door and hesitated for a moment before deciding to leave. 'There's no point in staying,' he thought. 'She's not going to let me back in anyway.'
