Leila couldn't hide the fact that Liang He had been taken by Lick. However, at Huo An's request, she didn't mention that Liang He had allowed herself to be captured on purpose. She also kept Liang He's foreknowledge of Lick's true identity and the unfolding events a secret.
"That Lick! What a waste of Liang He's kindness toward him!" After listening to Leila and Ao Ke's account, Goring slammed the table in anger, continuously condemning Lick.
Beside him, President Lucas looked terrible. Exhausted, he leaned back in his chair with his eyes tightly closed.
"President, before Liang He was taken, she specifically asked me to tell you that this isn't your fault," Leila said.
Thinking back, she had found Liang He's words strange at the time. She could have easily told President Lucas herself, yet she insisted on passing the message through Leila. It turned out she had already prepared herself to be captured by Lick.
