A food delivery driver who happened to be passing by helped Summer Thorne to her feet.
The driver helped her to the curb and asked repeatedly if he should call an ambulance for her.
After breathing in the fresh air, Summer Thorne slowly began to come to her senses. She thanked the driver and assured him she was fine.
"Don't sleep in your car with the engine running! It's really dangerous!" The kind driver admonished her one last time before getting on his scooter and riding away.
Summer Thorne sat by the curb for a long while before she vaguely recalled, in her daze, that someone had called her before she got out of the car.
She slowly stood up, fished her phone out from the crevice of the seat, and glanced at the screen, only to find it was still on a call.
The person on the other end was Timothy York.
Summer Thorne stared blankly at the call timer—over ten minutes—for a moment before slowly lifting the phone to her ear and tentatively saying, "Hello?"
