Chapter 17 - episode 18

Leo stood before thousands of people.

The Crown of the Future rested upon his head.

He looked at the crowd.

His father's final words echoed in his mind.

Protect them.

Leo raised his hand.

"I am not here to become greater than my father."

The people became silent.

"I am here to continue what he started."

He looked toward the mountains.

"No kingdom will be conquered because of greed."

He looked toward the children.

"No child will grow up believing war is the only answer."

He looked toward the soldiers.

"You will protect the people, not rule over them."

The crowd began cheering.

Leo smiled.

Then something unexpected happened.

The Crown of the Future began glowing.

A golden light spread across the sky.

The ancient voice returned.

"THE FUTURE HAS BEEN CHOSEN."

Leo looked upward.

The clouds opened.

A brilliant sunrise appeared.

And for the first time in thousands of years, the Crown spoke its final message:

"THE AGE OF KINGS HAS ENDED."

Everyone became silent.

Leo's eyes widened.

"What?"

The crown continued:

"THE AGE OF PEOPLE HAS BEGUN."

The golden crown slowly disappeared from Leo's head.

It dissolved into light.

Leo stared at his empty hands.

Then he smiled.

He finally understood.

His father's greatest legacy was never the crown.

It was the people.

EPILOGUE

Hundreds of years later, children gathered inside a school in Chingy City.

Their teacher stood before them.

"Who was King Austin?"

A young girl raised her hand.

"He was a dragonfighter."

Another child shouted:

"He saved Chingy City!"

The teacher smiled.

"And what did he teach?"

The children answered together:

"That power must be used with wisdom!"

The teacher nodded.

"And what did King Leo teach?"

A little boy raised his hand.

"That the future belongs to everyone."

The teacher smiled.

Outside the school, the kingdom was peaceful.

There were no armies marching toward distant cities.

No kings seeking conquest.

No dragons attacking villages.

No crowns forcing people to obey.

The ancient Crown of the Future had disappeared forever.

But its message remained.

Every generation was given a choice.

Power or responsibility.

Revenge or forgiveness.

War or peace.

And every generation had to choose.

Far away, on a hill overlooking the kingdom, stood a statue of King Austin.

At its base were five words:

"THE FUTURE IS OURS."

The wind moved gently through the trees.

Children laughed in the distance.

The sun rose over Chingy City.

And somewhere beyond the mountains, the First Dragon opened its eyes one final time.

It looked toward the peaceful kingdom.

Then it smiled.

Because the world no longer needed a dragon to protect it.

Humanity had finally learned to protect itself.

And that was the greatest victory of all.
