Darkness.
Not the kind that scares.
The kind that swallows.
Kael drifted in it… weightless… silent… lost between something that felt like death and something that refused to let him go.
Fragments flickered.
A battlefield.
Blood.
A voice—
"You died."
Another—
"We've been looking for you."
Then—
Nothing.
—
"…He should've died."
A voice cut through the void.
Sharp.
Serious.
—
"…Yeah, well, he didn't," another replied casually.
—
"…That's not normal."
—
"…None of this is normal."
—
Light.
Slowly… painfully… returning.
—
Kael's fingers twitched.
—
"…He moved."
—
"…About time."
—
His eyes opened.
Blurry.
Shadows… shapes… figures surrounding him.
—
"…Don't sit up."
A calm voice.
Firm.
—
Too late.
Kael forced himself up.
(THUD.)
Pain exploded through his body.
"…Tch—!"
He grabbed his side, breathing sharply.
Everything hurt.
His ribs.
His arm.
Even breathing felt wrong.
—
"…I said don't move," the same voice repeated.
—
Kael ignored it.
His eyes finally focused.
Three people.
Around him.
Watching him.
—
The blue-haired girl stood slightly behind.
Arms crossed.
Silent.
—
In front of him—
A tall man.
Calm.
Sharp eyes.
Presence heavy.
—
And next to him—
A younger guy.
Leaning forward with curiosity.
—
"…You're staring too much," the young one said with a grin.
—
"…Shut up," the tall man replied.
—
Kael frowned.
"…Where am I…"
—
"…Safe enough," the tall man answered.
—
"…That's not an answer."
—
"…It's the only one you need right now."
💀
—
Silence.
Tense.
—
Kael's gaze moved slowly between them.
Calculating.
—
"…You saved me," he said.
—
"…She did," the young one pointed casually at the blue-haired girl.
"…We just made sure you didn't die after that."
—
"…Barely," the tall man added.
—
Kael clicked his tongue.
"…Figures."
—
He tried to stand again.
Failed.
Sat back down.
Annoyed.
—
"…You're in no condition to move," the tall man said.
—
"…And you're in no position to order me," Kael shot back.
💀
—
Silence.
—
The young guy leaned closer, whispering:
"…I like him."
—
"…You like everyone," the tall man replied coldly.
—
"…Not true."
—
"…Focus."
—
Kael watched them.
Confusion slowly turning into irritation.
—
"…Start talking," Kael said.
"…Who are you?"
—
A pause.
—
The tall man stepped forward.
—
"…We're survivors."
—
"…Of what?"
—
Silence.
—
The blue-haired girl finally spoke:
"…Of a war you don't remember."
💀
—
Kael's eyes narrowed.
"…Try me."
—
The young guy scratched his head.
"…He's gonna be annoying, huh?"
—
"…Answer him," the tall man said.
—
A breath.
—
"…That mark on your shoulder," the tall man continued.
"…It's not just a symbol."
—
Kael froze slightly.
—
"…It means you're one of us."
—
"…One of WHAT?" Kael snapped.
💀
—
Silence filled the room.
—
The tall man's gaze hardened.
—
"…A Legend."
💀💀💀
—
Kael didn't react immediately.
Just stared.
—
Then—
"…That's a joke."
—
"No," the blue-haired girl said calmly.
—
"…You're serious?" Kael scoffed.
"…You expect me to believe that?"
—
"…You already experienced it," she replied.
"…Or did you forget how you survived back there?"
💀
—
Kael went silent.
His fist tightened.
—
"…That wasn't control," he muttered.
"…That was chaos."
—
"…Exactly," the tall man said.
—
A pause.
—
"…Which is why you almost died."
💀
—
Kael looked up sharply.
—
"…That man…"
—
"…Is just a dog of the World Government," the young guy interrupted.
—
"…A dangerous one," the tall man corrected.
—
Kael frowned.
"…World Government?"
—
Silence.
—
The tall man exhaled slowly.
—
"…The people hunting you."
💀
—
Kael's eyes darkened.
"…Why?"
—
No answer.
—
"…Answer me."
—
The blue-haired girl stepped forward slightly.
—
"…Because people like us…"
A pause.
—
"…shouldn't exist anymore."
💀
—
Silence.
Heavy.
—
Kael leaned back slightly.
Processing.
—
"…So let me get this straight…"
—
He looked at each of them.
—
"…I get killed…"
"…Wake up in another life…"
"…Get hunted by some 'government'…"
"…And now I'm part of some 'legend group'?"
—
The young guy raised his hand.
"…When you say it like that, it sounds crazy."
—
"…Because it IS crazy," Kael snapped.
💀
—
A brief silence.
—
Then—
"…You can leave."
The tall man spoke.
—
Kael froze.
"…What?"
—
"…If you don't want this," he continued calmly,
"…walk out that door."
—
Silence.
—
"…But once you do…"
A pause.
—
"…they will find you."
💀
—
Kael's gaze hardened.
—
"…And next time…"
—
The blue-haired girl finished:
"…no one will come."
💀💀💀
—
Silence.
—
The room felt smaller.
Heavier.
Real.
—
Kael exhaled slowly.
—
"…Tch…"
—
He looked down at his hand.
Still shaking.
Still weak.
—
"…Then talk," he said.
"…I'm not dying clueless."
💀
—
The tall man turned away slightly.
—
"…Good."
A pause.
—
"…Then listen carefully."
💀
—
And outside…
Far beyond their hidden base…
—
Someone was already searching.
💀
