¬ Hiln
'You idiot! Do not trust her!'
By the time I had snapped back to my senses, the void came bearing down on me.
A forced smelled into me from the side and glass shattered. Cold air hit my face like a slap, and I opened my eyes as reality crashed back into focus. The wind tore at my hair and clothes as the castle grounds fell away beneath us.
Massive wings beat above my head.
"Snap out of this!"
Fashire's voice was raw, furious, and terrified all at once. His arms were locked around me and he rose higher. I caught the faint burning smear on his forearm that was rapidly healing.
My heart thundered in my chest. It had all been so sudden.
"Hiln—"
Fashire's words were cut off as a disorienting shrill split the air.
It was so loud it resonated in my bones and made my teeth ache, sending a spike of primal terror straight through my chest.
What I saw next made every thought in my head go silent.
The castle was collapsing.
