I stared at the empty space.
What was that?
I replayed the sudden moment. He had just tensed out of nowhere, and the way his eyes had flickered.
It almost looked like he panicked?
What could make him do that exactly?
I shook my head. I would get back to it later. He was gone… For now.
But I finally had some time to myself and I wasn't going to waste it.
I closed my eyes and reached inward.
The energy pulsed beneath my skin, and I spread out my senses further than I had ever done.
The world tilted as I suddenly felt dizzy and I paused to relax.
I needed to find May and Saffire.
I'd felt their presence when I had seen them earlier.
I hoped I would be able to find them now.
It saddened me that I couldn't extend my energy any further. I started moving, hoping to shift the scope of my range when I suddenly felt them.
Excitement kicked in and I raced in their direction, ignoring the stares headed my way.
