Chapter 64 - Chapter 64: The Plant Person, Supreme Kai!

The twin-tailed girl didn't pay any attention to Glorio's warning. Instead, she asked curiously, "Where are you guys headed?"

Son Goku answered honestly, "We're going to the First Demon Realm."

"The First Demon Realm? What are you going there for?"

"To take down King Gomah, of course! He kidnapped our friend!"

"Listen, kiddo, maybe you should head back," Goku added. "It's going to get pretty dangerous following us."

The girl shook her head. "No way. I'm going to the First Demon Realm too."

"Besides, Gomah has gone way too far. He's sucking away people's lifespans if they can't pay their gold coins. He's even worse than Dabura!"

The group exchanged helpless looks. They couldn't exactly kick a little girl out into the middle of nowhere.

Meanwhile, in the First Demon Realm.

A nanny was holding a book, reading a story to Dende, who had been turned into a baby.

Suddenly, Gomah spoke up. "Hey!"

"K-King Gomah!" The nanny looked up in terror at his sudden appearance.

"What kind of storytelling is that?! You need more passion! Put some emotion into it, you idiot!"

The nanny nodded frantically. "Yes, King Gomah! I'm so sorry!"

Gomah nodded, satisfied. "Hmph. This little brat is a valuable talent who can create Dragon Balls. You'd better take good care of him!"

Gomah looked at Dende with eyes full of anticipation, completely ignoring the fact that he was the one who had dragged Dende to the Demon Realm in the first place.

Back in the Third Demon Realm.

"Hey, if you're going to the First Demon Realm, you've still got a long way to go," the girl said. "Do you want to rest at my place for the night?"

"Your place?"

"That's right! I'm the Princess of the Third Demon Realm!" Panzy said, tilting her head back proudly.

"A princess? You sure don't look like one..."

"That's my house right there. Want to go down and rest?" Panzy pointed to a castle visible below the aircraft.

The group nodded. It was indeed a long journey, and a night of rest wouldn't hurt.

As Panzy led them to the front of the castle, the guards gasped in surprise. "Princess?! You actually came back?!"

Panzy rolled her eyes at them. "What, I'm not allowed back? Move it!"

The guards quickly cleared the way. Before long, the group stood before King Kadan.

He was a man of massive stature, sitting upon a throne-like chair. He looked down at Glorio and spoke. "So, these are the experts you said could defeat Majin Buu?"

Glorio nodded. "Yes, sir. These are the ones."

"It's true! I saw them beating up the Gendarmes," Panzy added. "They're incredibly strong!"

"Is that so?" King Kadan's expression instantly turned warm. "Then I must thank you for looking after Panzy."

"Did you send someone to bring Goku and the others here, Father?" Panzy asked curiously.

"No," King Kadan shook his head. "This fellow Glorio said he could find people capable of defeating Gomah and brought them from the outside world!"

This caught Piccolo's attention. So, Glorio had lied to them. What was his real motive?

Panzy had a sudden realization. "Oh, so that's why! No wonder their ears are round."

"Wait, are people from the outside world all this strong? Can you all fly through the sky?"

"Only because we've trained for it!" Goku replied.

"So, the mission to defeat Gomah was your idea?" the Supreme Kai asked, looking at King Kadan.

"That's right! I can't stand that guy," King Kadan growled. "Gomah is a complete scoundrel. He absolutely cannot be allowed to remain the Grand Demon King. For the sake of the Demon Realm's peace, I think it's better if I take the position myself!"

King Kadan made no effort to hide his ambition, stating it plainly to everyone.

"I see..."

"Of course," King Kadan continued, "if you defeat King Gomah, I wouldn't mind gaining a fine son-in-law!"

The group: "!!!"

Wait, what? People here are this direct?

The sudden offer left everyone stunned.

"Father! Stop making decisions for other people!" Panzy yelled, looking at King Kadan with frustration.

"Hahaha! Don't worry, not right now. We'll wait until you're an adult!" Kadan said, looking at Panzy sheepishly.

Turles was speechless. Is this guy really trying to bait us with a 'marriage' promise? Talk about an empty bribe... especially since the 'bribe' is still a kid.

"Uh, sorry to break it to you, but we're all married," Goku said.

"Married? What a shame..."

King Kadan looked at Turles, Goku, and Vegeta with genuine disappointment. His plan had collapsed as soon as he proposed it. He knew these were warriors capable of trading blows with Majin Buu, after all!

The next day, the group resumed their journey toward the First Demon Realm. Piccolo had already figured out who had hired Glorio; with his agility and enhanced hearing, keeping an eye on Glorio had been easy.

"I never would have guessed that the Supreme Kai was basically a plant person," Panzy remarked during the flight.

"Well, it's hard to explain," Shin replied. "We Glinds are born as children from the Glind Tree every few hundred years."

"So that means Gomah's adjutant, that guy Degesu, is your brother?" Panzy asked.

The Supreme Kai nodded. "You could say that. He was born from the same tree when I was 216 years old."

"Interesting," Goku said, his eyes sparkling with curiosity. "Does that mean everyone is siblings? Are Kibito and the Elder Kai siblings too?"

"Ah, not exactly. There are five Glind Trees in total," Shin explained.

"I see. But why didn't that Degesu guy leave for the outside world like the other Glinds? Why stay in the Demon Realm?" Panzy wondered.

"Maybe Degesu is just different from us. He's always been very ambitious and never really got along with anyone," Shin said, shaking his head after a moment of thought.

"Oh, right! There's also that female Glind genius scientist!"

"You must mean Arinsu. She's... well, she's like my older sister. But strictly speaking, Glinds don't have genders. We aren't really men or women."

Panzy's expression froze. She thought back to Arinsu's "wicked" curves and felt a sudden wave of self-consciousness. Dammit, I got outshined by someone who isn't even technically a woman!

Shin didn't notice Panzy's internal crisis and continued, "Arinsu is a science fanatic. She has massive ambitions, so she chose to stay in the Demon Realm because it's more 'exciting' here."

Hearing the Supreme Kai's evaluation of his "siblings," the group couldn't help but shake their heads. His family was certainly a collection of eccentrics.

"Alright! We've reached the First Demon Realm," Glorio announced, pointing ahead. "King Gomah's castle is just up there. Everyone, stay sharp!"

"So that's it?" Goku said, cracking his knuckles. "I'll take care of this Gomah guy!"

"Piccolo, I'm leaving Dende to you!"

Vegeta scowled, clearly annoyed. "Hey, Kakarot! What do you mean 'you'll' take care of him? Who decided that?"

"Come on, Vegeta, don't be like that. You were the first one to step up against Majin Buu last time. You can't hog all the fun this time!"
