Chapter 15 – Night Camp Games
The campgrounds changed at night.
Everything that looked adventurous in the daytime now felt a little dangerous under flickering torchlights and rustling trees. The bonfire crackled in the center, throwing warm orange light over scattered blankets, logs, and tired-but-hyper teenagers who clearly had no intention of sleeping early.
Percy was already in his element.
"This is IT!" he declared dramatically, standing on a log like a commander. "Night games. Truth or dare. No mercy. No escape. Only chaos."
Aries pinched the bridge of his nose. "Why do we always let him speak first…"
Ella sat calmly beside Aries, smiling faintly. "Because no one can stop him anyway."
Across the circle, JJ dropped onto a log with a snack packet already open. "If this game is stupid, I'm leaving."
Keifer sat down right beside her immediately. "You'll stay."
JJ glanced at him. "Excuse me?"
He leaned back casually. "You're too curious to leave."
She scoffed. "You're too confident for your own survival."
He smirked. "And you're too entertaining to walk away from."
Percy suddenly screamed, "THIS IS FLIRTING! I REPEAT—THIS IS FLIRTING IN REAL TIME!"
Aries snapped, "Sit down!"

The Game Begins – Truth or Dare Chaos
The bonfire circle formed quickly.
Cin, Felix, Rory, Endrix, David, Calix, Denzel, Ella, Aries, Percy, Keifer, JJ… all sat in a messy ring of chaos and anticipation.
Percy grabbed a bottle. "Spin it. Whoever it points to—truth or dare. No backing out."
Felix groaned. "I already regret this."
Rory nodded. "Same."
Cin smirked. "Let's make it interesting."
That's when he pulled out a small bottle from his bag.
Dark liquid.
No label.
Just… ominous energy.
"This," Cin said casually, "is my regret drink."
Silence.
JJ blinked. "That sounds illegal."
Cin shrugged. "Not exactly. But if you refuse truth or dare… you drink."
Aries frowned. "That's dangerous."
Cin smiled lightly. "Only for cowards."
Keifer narrowed his eyes. "We're not doing that."
Percy immediately shouted, "WE ARE ABSOLUTELY DOING THAT!"
JJ leaned back. "Of course we are."

First Spins – Chaos Slowly Escalates
The bottle spun.
Pointed at Rory.
Rory froze. "No."
Percy grinned. "Truth or dare?"
"…Truth."
Percy leaned in. "Who do you secretly trust the most in this group?"
Rory immediately said, "JJ."
JJ blinked. "Why me?"
Rory shrugged. "You look like you'd survive an apocalypse."
JJ nodded. "Correct."
Keifer frowned slightly at that. Not loud. Just… noted.
Next spin.
Felix.
Dare.
Percy's eyes sparkled. "Run around the entire camp shouting your deepest fear."
Felix screamed. "I HATE YOU."
And ran.

Cin's Drink Enters the Game
The mood shifted when Calix refused a dare.
Cin slid the bottle forward.
"Drink."
Calix stared. "You're insane."
Cin smiled. "Rule is rule."
Before anyone could react, JJ leaned forward. "Wait."
Keifer immediately looked at her. "Don't."
JJ tilted her head. "Let me see."
Aries frowned. "JJ, no."
But JJ was already curious.
Cin passed it slightly forward.
JJ sniffed it lightly.
"Smells like trouble," she muttered.
Percy screamed, "BABY SISTAH DON'T—"
JJ pulled back. "Relax. I'm not drinking it."
Keifer visibly relaxed slightly.
But something in his eyes darkened.
He didn't like that she even touched it.
Not because of rules.
Because of risk.

Keifer's Jealous Spark Begins
Next spin.
Bottle pointed at JJ.
The circle went SILENT.
Percy stood up instantly. "OH THIS IS GOLD."
Aries muttered, "This is going to be a disaster."
Cin smiled. "Truth or dare, JJ?"
JJ leaned back. "Dare."
Keifer immediately said, "Don't."
JJ glanced at him. "Why? Scared?"
He leaned forward slightly. "Not scared. Just don't like stupid risks."
That line made her pause for half a second.
Then she smirked. "Relax, President."
Percy yelled, "SHE SAID PRESIDENT LIKE A ROMANCE TITLE!"
Aries smacked him again.
Cin thought for a moment. "Dare… sit in the center of the circle for one minute. No talking. Everyone stares."
JJ shrugged. "Easy."
She moved to the center.
And sat.

The Moment Everything Shifted
Silence.
All eyes on JJ.
Keifer's eyes stayed locked on her longer than anyone else's.
Too long.
Too focused.
JJ noticed.
Of course she did.
But she didn't react.
Not at first.
Then someone behind whispered, "She's actually scary when she's quiet."
Keifer replied instantly, "She's not scary."
It came out sharp.
Too fast.
Too protective.
Aries immediately looked at him.
JJ's lips twitched slightly.
Interesting.
The minute ended.
JJ stood.
Back to normal.
Chaos resumed.
But something had changed.

The Turning Point – Keifer Snaps (A Little)
Later.
Cin's drink came out again.
Someone refused.
Again.
Rules again.
Tension rising.
And then JJ reached for it again out of curiosity.
Keifer grabbed her wrist instantly.
Not hard.
But firm.
"Enough."
The circle went silent.
JJ looked at his hand.
Then at him.
"Watson," she said slowly, "let go."
He didn't.
Percy whispered, "OH THIS IS ABOUT TO BECOME DRAMA."
Aries stood slightly. "Keifer."
Keifer didn't look away from JJ. "You don't need to test everything."
JJ tilted her head. "I wasn't going to drink it."
"You touched it twice already."
"Because I was curious."
"And curiosity gets people hurt."
That line hit differently.
Even JJ paused.
Something softer flickered in her eyes—but she masked it immediately.
She yanked her wrist free. "You're not my guardian."
Keifer stepped closer. "No. But I care whether you get hurt."
Silence.
Too honest.
Too sudden.
Percy gasped. "HE SAID IT OUT LOUD—"
Aries snapped, "Percy, shut up."
Ella quietly watched, expression softer now.
JJ stared at Keifer for a second.
Then scoffed. "Don't start acting like you own concern over me."
Keifer didn't back off. "I don't. I just have it."
That shut her up for half a second.

Aftershock – Fire in the Air
JJ stepped away first.
"Game's boring," she said.
But her voice wasn't fully steady.
Keifer watched her go.
Not stopping her this time.
But not looking away either.
Percy whispered loudly, "SHE'S ANGRY FLUSTERED. THIS IS MY FAVORITE GENRE."
Aries grabbed him again. "Move."
Cin sighed. "Didn't expect Watson to react like that."
Felix muttered, "He's jealous."
Denzel nodded. "Very."
Ella looked at Aries. "He cares a lot."
Aries replied quietly, "Too much for his own peace."

Bonfire Ending – Quiet Distance
Later, JJ sat slightly away from the group, knees pulled up, staring at the fire.
Keifer walked over.
Sat beside her.
No teasing this time.
Just silence.
JJ didn't look at him. "You ruined the game."
Keifer replied calmly. "You were going to get hurt."
"I wasn't."
"You didn't know that."
That made her pause again.
The fire crackled.
Wind moved through trees.
Percy yelled something in the background about "emotional tension arc," but no one cared anymore.
JJ finally said softly, "You don't have to protect me all the time."
Keifer looked at her. "I know."
A beat.
Then quieter:
"But I still will."
And for once…
JJ didn't argue.
