Chapter 29 - [MAX] 29: Draw!

Scáthach-Skadi realized Adam had most likely seen her earlier behavior. A faint blush crept across her cheeks before she could stop it.

"Master!"

"When exactly did you start watching?"

Adam remembered how sensitive Scáthach-Skadi was to heat. With the entire city still burning and the air temperature unbearably high, he had only turned to check if she was feeling too uncomfortable. If she was, he would have sent her back to Chaldea first.

That was when he had caught her in that unexpectedly adorable moment.

As for when he had started watching…

"Probably from the moment you put down the ice cream."

Scáthach-Skadi pressed her lips together, her blush deepening even further.

"So you saw everything?!!"

Then, mortified, she snapped,

"Forget it! Forget everything you just saw, right now!"

Adam simply closed his eyes with a deeply satisfied expression, as though he had been treated to the finest sight in existence.

"I'm going to burn that image into my memory forever."

Forgetting it? Impossible. There was no way he could forget it in this lifetime.

Later, when he was doing "naughty things" with Scáthach-Skadi, he could pull it out to tease her mercilessly.

When Adam got intimate with Servants he shared high bond levels with, he liked to whisper strange, teasing words at just the right moments.

He had learned the trick from Merlin.

Merlin loved it when Adam said those weird things while pounding her relentlessly.

It was perfect for setting the mood.

After learning it, Adam discovered it worked wonders—especially on proud, aloof queen types like Scáthach-Skadi who were secretly pure-hearted princesses underneath.

Every word he spoke made her tremble.

Clearly remembering something, Scáthach-Skadi shyly hid her face behind her ice cream, too embarrassed to meet his eyes.

[Scáthach-Skadi Mood +10]

Cú Chulainn caught a glimpse of the scene. The expression on his face could only be described as pure disbelief.

Cú Chulainn was still having trouble adjusting.

It felt completely wrong, like seeing his queen acting all cute and girlish. He could accept that every parallel world's version of his mentor might have slight differences, but this? Impossible! Absolutely impossible!

Adam decided to stop staring and let her calm down on her own.

At the moment, the group was gathered inside the school building, making final preparations for the upcoming decisive battle.

Their opponents would be Emiya and Artoria Alter.

Even after defeating those two, the fight would not be over.

Lev was still waiting after that.

Adam was pondering how best to farm some Mood Points off Lev.

He opened his system panel and scanned through his list of Servants.

Who would be the most effective…?

Just then, [Mash] handed him a piece of fruit.

"Senpai, would you like some fruit?"

Adam accepted it with a smile.

"Thanks, [Mash]."

Then he glanced over her shoulder and saw Olga Marie in the distance, still discussing the details of Chaldea's damage with Dr. Roman.

A mischievous grin spread across Adam's face.

He had just decided who to use against Lev.

Using his mind to control the system interface, he navigated to the Mood Summon Pool.

He checked his remaining Mood Points.

[Mood Points — 16060]

That gave him a total of 83 pulls.

For a brief moment, Adam felt the strong urge to spend all of them at once.

But then he remembered his last 60-roll session where he had only gotten one good item—a classic case of terrible luck.

He quietly allocated half of his Mood Points to the consumption counter.

His consumption value now read 0/24.

Then he checked his remaining Mood Points again.

[Mood Points — 8060]

Still 43 pulls left.

No more hesitation.

Pull!!!

With a thought, Adam pressed the cursed 10-roll summon button.

First 10-roll:

[Bronze Apple ×2]

[Silver Apple ×1]

[Golden Apple ×2]

[1★ Craft Essence ×3]

[2★ Craft Essence ×1]

[3★ Craft Essence: Magic Meter]

Adam's eyes lit up when he saw the 3★ Craft Essence.

Oh? A hit right off the bat.

He quickly checked its effect.

[Magic Meter: Can detect magical energy exceeding a certain threshold and point toward its location.]

Not bad. It was actually quite useful for scouting work.

It was just a shame it wasn't the one he wanted most.

He really needed a Craft Essence that could speed up mana recovery!

Since he had already pulled a 3★ on the first try, he felt like his luck was rolling.

Adam clicked the 10-roll button again.

Second 10-roll:

[1★ Craft Essence ×3]

[Silver Apple ×1]

[Bronze Apple ×4]

[2★ Craft Essence ×1]

[3★ Craft Essence: Grimoire]

Adam's face brightened.

Another hit!

Just as expected! This was clearly his lucky time window!

He checked the details of the new 3★ Craft Essence.

[Grimoire: A book recording the secrets of magecraft, as well as the life of the magus who authored it.]

Unfortunately, this one was almost useless to him.

Adam rubbed his chin while staring at the card.

Then his eyes drifted toward Olga Marie again.

Maybe he should give this one to her?

He asked the system:

System, can I transfer Craft Essences to others?

[Affirmative. You may materialize the Craft Essence into card form and gift it to another person.]

[However, even if the recipient possesses multiple Craft Essences from you, they can only equip one at a time.]

Adam gave the system a mental thumbs-up. Nice, very user-friendly.

He decided he would pass this Grimoire to Olga Marie when the chance arose.

He checked his remaining Mood Points once more.

[Mood Points — 4060]

23 pulls left.

Not bad at all. Two 10-rolls and he had already scored two different 3★ Craft Essences.

He was almost afraid to imagine what he might pull next.

Adam continued the evil 10-roll grind.

Third 10-roll:

[1★ Craft Essence ×2]

[Silver Apple ×1]

[2★ Craft Essence ×3]

[Bronze Apple ×4]

Adam stared blankly at the results.

Nothing. Not a single good item!

The bad luck was starting to show itself.

He sucked in a sharp breath.

Something felt off, but it should be fine. He still had one more 10-roll.

The first two pulls had given him two 3★ Craft Essences. The third one coming up dry was probably just an exception.
