Tatski wakes up in her room. Her ears have dried blood from the loud ringing and her body feels weak from the pill, probably a side effect of taking it.
She looks around the room in a daze trying to remember everything that happened. She turns her head and Suyome is laying in her bed facing the wall, tired from the long battles they fought today…
Tatski swings her legs and hangs them from the side of her bed and stares down at her thighs blankly.
Suyome shuffles in her bed and covers herself with her blanket
Suyome: "What's on your mind, Tatski?"
Suyome talks to Tatski while still facing the wall. Tatski looks up at her and a look of sorrow covers her face
Tatski: "You…you made that boy…kill himself…don't you…don't you feel…horrible?"
Suyome doesn't respond…she slowly sits up and her hair drops to her shoulders
Suyome: "This facility has the technology to bring someone back from the dead…he was a strong candidate. They will bring him back…I mean he already died several times before…"
Tatski: "That's not what i meant! You were ruthless…cold…no human should be that nonchalant about another human being dying! Do you even have a heart?"
Suyome stares at Tatski before laying down and rolling over
Suyome: "A human heart is for people who live normal lives…get some sleep. After tomorrow, we will be sent on our first mission to fight a mini Kaiju."
Tatski: "I thought there needed to be 10 people left for the K-team to be official? There's still 18 of us…"
Suyome: "Remember when I said over using your power will backfire…10 candidates died from rapid cell expansion causing them to implode. Be grateful you're still alive…Goodnight."
Tatski stares at Suyome with a look of shock and sadness. She rolls over on her bed staring at the wall.
[Bar, Yesterday 2:34 am]
Connie stands in the the destroyed bar holding a bleeding and crippled shin. Shin spits blood and grins
Connie: "Tell me what I need to know. Or else I'll beat more sense into your tiny brain.
Shin: "Fine! Have you ever heard of human genetic remutation?"
Chief Don walks over throwing two unconscious gang members to the ground
Don: "I've heard of it…my department was investigating it at one point in time. Its when you take the cells of a human and combine them with the cells of an extraterrestrial beings."
Connie looks at Chief Don dumbfounded
Connie: "Did you hit your head or something? Aliens don't exist…and what you just said means…there are people out there breeding humans and aliens?"
Don: "You know the story of Adam and Eve correct…in the bible it states that they were the first people. First humans…but in reality they were most likely aliens…they created religion as a way of controlling humans to do their bidding."
Connie: "How does that make any correlation to my sister?!"
Shin laughs and smiles widely
Shin: "The organization your sister has been taken by worship those same aliens. When those aliens came to this planet they brought beast called 'Kaiju'."
Connie: "Why should I believe anything you say?! How would a lowley yakuza member like you know all of this?! This sounds like it would be classified information."
Shin: "They rely heavily on the intimidation of the Yakuza to get their way. Each member is some form of a genetically modified human. You also possess the key elements of that kind of power…"
Connie drops Shin and turns away and starts walking away
Connie: "This was a waste of time!"
Shin sits up and grins at Connie
Shin: "There's so much more to this world then you know! Ahaha! If you really want to find your sister then look for bishop Micheal, he'll tell you what you want to hear…"
Connie acknowledges the tip and continues to walk out the bar. Chief Don walks behind him fixing his tie
Don: "Well I'm sorry my son wasn't much help…we're still trying everything we can-"
Connie: "No…I got the information I needed. Humans are decendents of aliens and some humans naturally posses supernatural powers like in the comics."
Don: "How did you come up to that conclusion?!"
Connie: "I just…had a feeling shin was telling the truth…his heartbeat was loud in my ears…it's like I could detect a lie or something…"
Don: "I guess I made the right decision making you my underling then. Let's go…we have more work to do."
[Somewhere in Okasa]
A boy is staring down at his empty notebook. It's Hiro Nagarumi. Hiro stares down at his empty school essay as he grips the sides of his head in frustration
Hiro: "I don't understand why we have to learn about the American revolution…we live in Japan!"
Hiro spins in his chair before turning on the tv. The local news comes on and a broadcast of a murder breaks the silence.
Broadcaster: "3 unidentified bodies have been found in an abandoned building in the Kyoto region. The bodies have been speculated to be around the ages of 15-16 years of age. Investigators will keep us updated if any new discoveries emerge. Now for tonight's weather…"
Hiro stares at the broadcast and spins back to his desk with a small sigh
Hiro: "Man these murderers have been going off lately…that left handed killer was found dead so he was probably murdered by a bigger murderer…"
Hiros door swings open and his older sister walks in carrying a frying pan and a knife
Mimosa: "What do you want for dinner?! Mom and dad are still on their business trip so I'm in charge!"
Hiro: "You really can't cook, Mimosa."
Mimosa hufs and chucks the pan at his head. It nearly misses and he sighs in relief
Mimosa: "Be grateful that I'm even cooking for your lazy ass!"
Hiro: "I'm sure you would cook for that Connie Warri boy you like…"
Mimosa blushes and throws the knife at him in rage. Hiro dodges and catches from behind his back. Mimosa stares at him in shock
Mimosa: "How did you do that?"
Hiro: "I don't know! My reflexes have been so strong lately…ever since gym class two weeks ago dealing with a bully"
Mimosa huffs and storms out the room. Hiro stares at his hand before jumping on his bed and rolling over staring at the ceiling
[class 3-b 9:39 am]
Hiro walks into class carrying his backpack on one of his shoulders. He notices 4 seats are empty in class but he pays no mind to it. He sits at his desk and pulls out his notebook
Hiedo stands infront of his desk and crosses his arms. Over the weeks Hiedo and Hiro have become close friends
Hiro: "Good morning Hiedo! What's with that face?"
Hiedo makes a grim face. Hiro looks around the room and notices the grim expressions on everyone's faces.
Hiro: "What's going on everyone?"
Mr. Nakano walks into the room with his usual blank expression. He's followed by chief Don and Principle Yami.
Mr. Nakano: "As you all know. We have a few open seats here today. They have been open for quite some time…the crime in our country raises every year and that means the mortality rates go up as well."
Principle Yami steps up and she clears her throat
Yami: "I…I have to break some bad news to you all. Three of your classmates have been murdered…and one is missing in an ongoing investigation. Chief Don is here for anyone who has any questions…you have the right to mourn even if you didn't know them well. But don't let that forget about your own mental health and your education. Today will be a work free day…"
Principle Yami and chief Don both walk out the room. Hiro turns to Hiedo and frowns
Hiedo: "That white haired girl is the one missing…the last time I we talked I bullied her…I feel terrible…what if she took what I said to heart and did something terrible…"
Hiro: "Don't blame yourself! Tatski is a strong willed girl. I mean if it wasnt for me she probably would have beat the hell out of you hehe…"
Hiedo doesn't laugh…he quietly sits at his desk and lays his head down. Hiro stands up and walks out the room to use the bathroom…he walks toward a corner before stopping after hearing Chief Dons voice around the corner.
Don: "Shin gave me some other information after our scuffle. The bishop resides in a church in the woods somewhere north. Tell your mom you're gonna be gone for a few days."
Connie: "I'll let her know."
Don: "How are you feeling…your message about that pain in your chest is worrying."
Connie: "After learning about supernatural abilities I've looked at things differently now…if what he said was true then…"
Don: "Well get our answers soon enough Connie. Go back to class I'll get you at 9:30."
Connie: "Yes sir…"
Connie walks away. Hiro hears chief Don coming his way and quickly runs into the bathroom.
Hiro: "What the hell were they talking about? Supernatural powers?! This isn't some comic book or manga…that was Connie Warri. Maybe i should ask what happened to Tatski…."
Hiro uses the bathroom before rushing out down the hall.
