Trees passed like afterimages as Isaac reinforced his body, with the man chasing him doing the same. The speed they were running at required constant attention otherwise, they would end up in a rock and a hard place.
It had felt like days had passed, but in fact only an hour had passed. Isaac ran into a semi open area and came to a complete stop and turned to face the man who was stopping just like he had just done.
As the man stopped, he took out a glove that had a purple gemstone embedded in its palm and then slid it on his hand. The gem glowed brightly as all the surrounding mana began to be drawn into it.
The man's grin grew bigger, and as he was about to speak, he was cut off by Isaac. He laughed and spoke.
"The glove looks like a serious threat. I was hoping to have the mana advantage, but it seems like my effort was in vain."
The man's grin fell as he attempted to understand what Isaac was saying since he had reverted to speaking English in the heat of the moment. Isaac opened his mouth as some of his mana potion began pouring out of his true world.
By the time it stopped, both of them were back to the peak of their strength. Isaac brought out his knife, which sat in his true world, and held it in a firm forward grip to maintain an arm's distance from the man at all times.
Isaac began slowly walking closer to the man since he seemed to still be relaxed in some weird form.
"Let me ask you something, pawn of the elders. Do you know what a true world is?"
As Isaac spoke, the man cast 'understand' on himself, but soon regretted it as his face shone with surprise at Isaac's words. Deep rage surged at being called a pawn, but pure shock plagued his face at the mention of a true world.
This didn't escape Isaac's eyes, and then Isaac was the one with a grin on his face. The more he knew about true worlds would surely help his cause, since it seems to be related to his 'origin' trait.
The first to attack was the man who quickly began chanting, and an unyielding ball of flames surged towards Isaac. The ball was at least 3 meters in diameter, and could most likely have exploded the rock that blocked the monument cave.
Isaac chanted and created three mud walls that dried out when the ball drew closer, but also seemed to snuff the ball mildly, the dirt walls that remained blocked and then dispersed the rest of the ball of fire.
The ball was clearly made in the image of the first fire that the rooters prayed to, and that Tiy had once extinguished, so Isaac knew that he could do the same, but he also wanted some cover so that he could get a cheap bow shot at the man.
As soon as Isaac brought up the wall, he brought out his bow and an arrow and shot a tightly angled shot at the man's hand that wore the glove. As it flew true to the man's hand, he stepped to the side and dodged the arrow.
The man ran towards the wall and created a ram from the ground and the wall, which he then ran up and jumped off while facing down at Isaac. The man snapped his fingers as sparks from the now dispersed fireball shifted and changed form into small pebbles and started barraging Isaac.
Isaac was none the wiser, and only after a few pebbles scorched his back did he realise and then roll out of the way, and the rest of the pebbles missed him.
Isaac's bow had been hit by the pebbles and began to burst into flames that Isaac then threw towards the man.
As the bow flew towards the man, Isaac spread his hands out and chanted, and as he did, the flames turned into many streams of fire that spiralled into one interlaced line that pierced the man in the shoulder, which was still falling down the wall after his jump.
The force of the fire knocked the man into the wall, which Isaac began shooting water at so that the mud roughened the terrain that the man stood on.
To Isaac's joy, the man tried to stand up and fell back down, which Isaac took as an opportunity to get closer and get a few good slashes on him. The man, not seasoned with fights, was caught off guard at the first slip, saw Isaac run towards him, and rose a wall and mud just like Isaac's.
The man thought it would keep Isaac at bay for long enough for him to get up and get away from the mud, but he was sorely mistaken, as a torrent of wind burst through the wall, splashing mud all over the man.
As well as leaving a sizable gap in the wall that Isaac had thrown a football sized fire ball though, which rapidly dried the mud and hardened, making the man's movements next to impossible to not notice.
Isaac ran around the wall and saw the man roll out of the gap between the walls, unfortunately, it was in the same opening that Isaac was running past, which caused the two of them to collide.
The man who was on the ground had just come to a complete stop, but Isaac, who was running, had tripped and had fallen headfirst.
The man quickly got up right as Isaac had come to a stop. The man looked down at Isaac and began speaking.
"You know, I have heard about a true world, but I don't think you have."
As Isaac began standing up, all his memories of true worlds began to fade out, but quickly stopped and returned. The inherent properties of Isaac's true world are that he couldn't forget anything that made up its boundaries, so unless his true world vanished, he would be unable to forget it.
Isaac grabbed his knife and spoke.
"Tiy told me about your trait, too bad my trait counters it. You see, I have the power to stop all traits from affecting me. Oh, and thanks for giving me a better reason for killing you, other than this war."
