But her expression had changed.

Mina wiped sweat from her forehead.
"…These exams are insane…"
Then tightened her grip.
"…But I'm not failing."
Ray exhaled sharply.
Wind swirled violently around his arms.
"…If Kai is ahead of us again…"
His eyes narrowed.
"…I'll catch up."
Another student collapsed nearby.
But immediately forced themselves back up.
"No breaks," Mina said coldly.
"…Not anymore."
Rex looked around slowly.
"…We're getting stronger… but it's still not enough."
Aeris didn't answer.
But her ice expanded slightly.
"…It has to be enough."
All of them shared the same silent thought.
Not spoken.
But understood.
We cannot stay behind Kai Ryan Korr anymore.
Principal's Office
The door was massive.
Black wood.
Old symbols carved deep into it.
Faintly glowing.

"…Why does this feel like a trap," he muttered.

"…Some kind of test?"
The Principal stood slowly.
"…Tell me," he said.
"…How many times have you died?"
Kai's eyes widened.
"…What?"
Silence.
The pressure increased again.
The walls subtly creaked.
Kai clenched his fists.
"…I don't know what you're talking about."
The Principal stepped closer.
"…That answer is false."
Inside Kai's mind—
the whisper returned.
Stronger this time.
He knows.
Kai's breath tightened.
"…Shut up…"
The Principal tilted his head slightly.
"…Something inside you is awake."
Kai froze completely.
Shock.
Clear.
Visible.
"…You can't sense that," Kai Ryan Korr said quietly.
The Principal smiled.
"…I don't need to sense it."
A pause.
"…I've seen it before."
Silence shattered.
Kai's heartbeat rose sharply.
"…Before?" he whispered.
The Principal turned toward the window.
"…You are not the first vessel to enter this academy."
Kai's pupils tightened.
"…Vessel?"
The word felt wrong.
Heavy.
Unnatural.
The Principal continued.
"…And the last one destroyed an entire region."
Silence.
Kai's hands trembled slightly.
Not fear.
Confusion.
Shock.
"…What am I…?" he whispered.
The Principal looked back.
Calm.
Serious.
Absolute.
"…That," he said softly.
"…Is what I intend to find out."
The room darkened slightly.
Not physically.
But mentally.
Like reality itself was tightening.
Kai felt it.
Something inside him—
locking onto him.
Not attacking.
Observing.
Evaluating.
Outside — Academy Grounds
Rex suddenly stopped mid-training.
"…Did you feel that?" he muttered.
Aeris slowly raised her head.
Ice fading around her hands.
"…Something changed," she said quietly.
Ray clenched his fists.
Wind flickered violently.
"…Kai is in trouble."
Mina frowned.
"…Or becoming something else."
Silence.
All of them looked toward the academy building.
Without understanding why.
But unable to look away.
Back in the Office
The Principal spoke again.
Quieter now.
"…Tell me, Kai Ryan Korr…"
A pause.
"…Do you feel it waking up again?"
Kai didn't answer.
But his shadow—
moved.
