Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

?? POV.

The day started like any other day, I woke up, cleaned myself, ate and prayed to the God emperor. I left my hub and went to work at the manufactoria for the next couple of terran hours to fill up my quota. This is how my life is and this is how it will always be. The launch alarm rang and I stopped working to join the line and head towards the cafeteria to get my food.

Corpse starch, this is our main source of sustenance along with synth paste. This could be the remains of my parents or bugs and any other critter or anyone else's for that matter since even when you die here, your work and value does not end- your remains will be recycled and used to feed someone else, your clothes will be stitched and given to the next person, your belongings will be passed down to your child or someone else if you don't have a family.

Sigh. I hate this. Fuck it, it's better then going to live in the underhive.

I suppressed a shudder at the thought of going down there. I finish up eating just before launch ends and went to put my tray in the trash bin. I passed by a group and overheard them speaking- bold of them to waste their launch time since there will be alot more work hours ahead- what I heard though made me slow down a bit. I stayed a bit longer then I intended, I threw the tray in bin and went back to my table since getting even a few minutes of rest is already a luxury for me.

Still though, another rebellion? That's like the second one this month. Did the last one not teach them that nothing is going change.

Just as I was about to get up, there was a large explosion coming from the direction of the entrance. And then alarms rang out and then an announcement that sent chills down my spine.

"Greetings my fellow lost children, I am Viktor, a child of the Grandfather and I have come to give you a message. Aren't you all tired of living this listless life where nothing changes, where you have to slave yourselves away until you die for people who see you as nothing more then dogs, slaves they can use and discard at anytime? Praying to a false God who just watches you all die from that gold throne-"

I didn't even finish listening before my mind tuned it out, my body started shaking, heart beating faster and my breathing quickening. A bad feeling wormed it's way into my mind and a single, loud thought was given form:

GET OUT OF HERE!!!

I didn't need to even overthink this feeling, it's something I've always had and it's one of the many reasons why I survived this long. This and cause I've always felt like I'm in constant danger, so I have never had the chance to not be vigilant.

I bolted through the frozen crowd and went to the back exit, I've been working here for years now and I've memorized where all the exits are. I went through twists and turn, ignoring the brewing chaos behind me. I know this is not normal since I've seen my fare share of rebellions and I've joined a few myself but nothing like this, where the leader of the rebellion opening denounces the nobility and the Emperor. Plus I've never felt this level of danger before, so I have to leave now!!

There's something sinister happening and I don't wanna be a part of it. I quickly found an exit and thankfully it was unguarded, which was unusually but I shook that thought away.

I have to get as far away from here as possible.

Turns out my bad feeling was right, that rebellion was not normal. From what I heard, the rebellion was lead by a heretic cult and hundreds of thousands fell that day and demons were summoned. Thankfully I was far way when that happened.

It has been two months since then and I've been living like a fugitive. I never stayed in one place for more then a day- I've been scavenging for food from other hubs and factories, I've even made a mental map of which parts are safe and which aren't. The routes I've been taking are leading me towards the outskirts where there aren't that many people though surviving there will be tough. Speaking of people I've been avoiding them like a plague as I didn't want to fight them for any food and water I find.

My luck ran out a couple of days ago though, while I was looking for a place to stay. I ran into a group of deformed people who I initially thought were mutants just from their appearance and lets just say things got violent real quick.

I got captured by those people and their group monsters which follow their commands. From what the these 'things' have been saying, they gave themselves up willingly to the 'Grandfather' and have been reborn. They captured us, to help us see how wonderful 'Grandfather Nurgle' is. And how do they help us one might ask, they maime and torture us into breaking and thus 'willingly' accept being turned into like them. And they are serious about this, a church preacher who was captured insulted their 'Grandfather' and he got brutally tortured and then turned into a poxwalker.

I still shudder at the memory since despite being turned, I could somehow tell that he was conscious and was in constant pain. The continuous torture and watching many people die has worn-out my spirit and I am so close to breaking and losing hope. I wasn't the only who was losing hope though, the people around me- the clergy women who has stopped praying to the Emperor and even the newbie guardsmen who was confident in his seniors finding us has stopped hoping and the others are the same too. We're all losing hope.

I watched as the cage we were in being slowly raised about a pit filled with slimy green disgusting liquid. I've seen what happened to those were dropped there and I don't want to turn into monsters like them.

Someone, anyone please help us!

I cried out inwardly as I could feel something cold and sinister reaching out to touch my soul, my please were suddenly answered by the sounds of bodies dropping. I looked around and saw them panicking and barking out commands only for them to drop dead with holes in their heads, I saw the poxwalkers scattering and the sound of guns shooting and bodies dropping rang out. Flashes of lightning and the sounds of screaming were all that I- we could hear and then silence encompassed us, followed by the sound of footsteps afterward.

The cage we were in suddenly moved and levitated away from the pit and was set gently on the ground. That's when someone came into our view, presumably our savior- they were wearing a worn and torn hooded military trench coat, black pants and shirt, along with combat boots. They wore a strange helmet with a T visor and a pair of brown gloves, two Lasguns were floating behind them trained in on us and they gave of a strange familiar feeling, as if we're the same.

"Is everyone alright?" They asked us.

In that very moment only one thing was on my mind and that was:

I have stay with Them at all cost of if I want to survive.

And scene~ so what do you guys think? I think I once again did pretty good if I do say so myself, though if you do see any mistakes or think I could have done better in a way please point it out. As you can see Arthur got his first minion without him even knowing, also what do you think of their perspective I'm still trying to figure out their personality honestly but by the next update I'm sure I would have it flashed out.

Anyway I'm so tired and you guys know the drill- like, comment and subscribe.
