"Move."
Richards' voice cut through the street just before Kaiden launched himself forward.
The first arrow left the bow with a hard snap and struck the pavement in front of him. Soul Essence fountained from the impact point in thin blue lines, branching across the ground like a net meant to snare his feet. Kaiden hit the edge of it and tore through anyway, the black essence boiling under his skin devouring the restraint before it could bind him properly.
Neo drifted aside as Kaiden hurtled past where he had been standing. The corrupted martial artist slammed into a metal container shoulder-first. The whole thing groaned inward, buckling under the impact, yet Kaiden didn't fall. His hands raked across the surface, fingers longer now, the nails blackened and hooked as though his body had decided halfway through the transformation that human hands were a bad design.
Neo stared at him. "What is that?"
