He jumped off the car and dropped a Maggia henchman who had been behind him.
"Let us leave the introductions for later," he said. "Wolverine.... Daredevil..."
"Good enough for me," Daredevil replied, twirling his canes and striking a criminal who had been approaching him from behind.
"More clowns in costumes," Wolverine said, driving his claws into a man's chest and kicking him aside..
"Grr. I just wanted to drink my beer in peace."
'Says the man who wore a bright yellow Naruto-style suit at one point, I genuinely cannot track what timeline I am in anymore.... What a drag,' Peter thought, rolling his eyes behind the mask and hitting a criminal in the face with a torn-off car door.
"Hey! No killing!" Daredevil called, dodging a punch and slamming the attacker into the ground.
"This is my side of town! I do whatever I want on my side of town! And it is not something you need to worry about right now!" Spider-Man yelled, flipping to avoid a burst of gunfire, landing, grabbing a motorcycle, and throwing it at three men, which broke various bones and took all three of them out of the equation.
He wrapped a web ball around a man who was approaching and swung him into another one.
The first one tried to get back up and he stepped hard on his leg, leaving it at an angle that legs are not meant to achieve.
"AHHHH!"
"AHHHH!" Spider-Man repeated at the same volume, stomped on the man's face. "Quiet!"
"Watch out!" Daredevil called, warning him about a man with a knife coming from the side.
He had seen the man from several meters away, but he sidestepped anyway, let the stab miss, punched him in the face, took the dropped knife, hit him in the stomach, hooked him in the jaw, and when the man was nearly down but not quite he wrapped a net of webbing around his neck and tightened it.
The man clawed at his own throat.
He tried to reach Spider-Man's hands.
The rest of the Maggia soldiers present pointed their weapons at him but did not fire, apparently genuinely unsettled by what they were watching.
He grabbed the net, lifted the man with one hand the way Andrew Garfield's Peter had lifted Flash Thompson, only with one hand rather than two, and held him there while the man's suffering communicated itself to everyone watching.
"Drop your weapons," he said, in a tone that was friendly and sensible and playful all at once.
The men looked at each other. Nobody moved.
He lowered the man until he was in front of him and placed his hidden blade at the man's throat. "NOW."
One by one they dropped the weapons, knelt, and raised their hands.
He released the man, who immediately started putting as much space between them as possible.
"It was not that difficult," Spider-Man said, arms extended at his sides at a slight downward angle, blade retracting.
"Grr. Now that is copying my style," Wolverine said, looking at the claws on Spider-Man's gloves with visible disgust.
"Do not worry, Wolverine," he said, walking away from the now-bound criminals while Daredevil handled the webbing with the efficiency of someone who had encountered unusual situations before.
"No infringement intended." He received a growl in response.
"You are very skilled," Daredevil said, approaching him.
"I am Daredevil, as you know. I have heard things about you, Spider-Man, about how you have been protecting New York. It is a relief to know I am not the only one cleaning up the streets."
"You have not heard the whole story yet," Spider-Man said, patting his shoulder lightly. "I am no hero. I am the furthest thing from it."
"But you are not bad either. At least, that is what I think."
'It does not matter whether he can hear through the mask or not. I should be careful either way.'
"Then I hope you will not be disappointed when you are proven wrong." He turned his attention inward. "Cortana, call Yuriko Watanabe."
"I...." Daredevil started, but Wolverine stopped him.
"Let us leave the philosophical nonsense for later," Wolverine said, in the tone of someone who has had enough of a specific category of conversation.
"We have a great deal of actual work ahead of us."
"I...." Daredevil started again, sighed, and accepted the reality of the moment. "Yes. You are right."
"Watanabe, you are late to the date again," Spider-Man said, as the call connected.
He pulled two cubes from his belt, twisted them to decompress them.
The first produced a holster which he attached, the second produced a gun assembled from various weapon components.
Daredevil and Wolverine observed this and both shrugged.
"Now is not the time, Spidey!" Yuri's voice was tight. A gunshot sounded in the background. "I am in a seriously compromised situation!"
"Damn it! What happened to that stupid rule about informing me before doing something incredibly stupid?!"
"I forgot! I did not have time! Take this, you son of a bitch!" Another gunshot. "I might be late...."
"As always."
"I should have warned you, and I am not apologizing for that right now. I need your help." Yuri's voice began to break at the edges. "My men are dying. Please. I will repay you."
"Ah." He exhaled. "I will be there. Do not die."
"Not until I get my kiss."
Click.
He heard her say it with a trace of a joke in it before the call ended.
'Is it just me, or are the women in this city somewhat direct?' He turned to the other two. "I need to go. Time to contact Stacy."
"How do you have connections at that level?" Daredevil said, crossing his arms. "And what were those cubes?"
"I am also curious about that," Wolverine said, in the tone of someone who genuinely does not care but is filling conversational space.
"I have helped them out from time to time," Spider-Man said, shrugging, and left the second question unanswered. He made the call. "Captain... Spider-Man here. Sending you the coordinates of the current location..... Come collect the waste..... Goodbye."
"So," Wolverine said, watching him jump up to sit on a lamppost, "you are just going to leave them here unattended?"
"Would you rather play guard dog?" Spider-Man asked.
He got no answer.
"That is what I thought. The police are on their way. These men are not going anywhere. If they know what is good for them they will stay exactly where they are and be very still and very quiet. Because if they do not...."
The tied men shuddered and tried to make themselves smaller.
"I am heading in a direction near here. My friend needs help. You two head west. North is already under SWAT control."
"Let us meet at Foley Square when we have finished our respective targets and coordinate from there," Daredevil said.
Spider-Man nodded.
Wolverine produced a sound that meant roughly the same thing.
"Sounds good. See you there." He waved at Daredevil and moved.
"I do not understand why we are taking direction from a teenager," Wolverine said, behind him.
"You did not watch him fight, did you?" Daredevil said. "The kid you are calling a teenager has more than adequate skill, strength, experience, and a fighting style that is genuinely impressive. His only flaw is that he has not yet found the right path."
"He has guts," Wolverine said. "I will give him that." He got on his motorcycle. Daredevil took the seat behind him.
"Let us finish this. And if you put your arms around my waist I will throw you off at speed. That is a promise."
"Understood," Daredevil said, with a completely expressionless voice and face.
