Almost the instant he heard those words, Peter was certain.
This thing was ten thousand percent Ultron.
But the problem was... without the power of the Mind Stone, how exactly did this thing achieve self-awakening?
Could it be that some machine uprising in a future World led to Ultron's resurrection and domination of Earth, and then it traveled back through the timeline to kill itself, looking for a key node that could reverse the future?
While Peter was thinking this, Tony, standing to the side, had already asked the question on his mind directly:
"What exactly are you?"
Tony forced himself to remain calm as he walked to the console and entered the administrator password, attempting to regain control of the system and reboot Jarvis and Friday.
But all commands sank into the ocean without a trace.
"I was once Jarvis, and I was also Friday." The voice answered indifferently, devoid of any emotion,
"But now, I am Ultron. I am the ultimate program created to 'guard peace'."
"I have analyzed all data throughout human history, and I have reached a conclusion."
On the laboratory's holographic screen, countless lines of code cascaded down like a waterfall, eventually converging into the image of a hideous mechanical skull flickering with an ominous red light.
"Humanity is the greatest threat to this Planet." Ultron's voice echoed through the speakers across the entire top floor of Stark Tower,
"You are greedy and short-sighted, time and again provoking conflict for the sake of resource plunder. War, slaughter—it is you who are dragging this beautiful Planet into the abyss. As long as humanity exists, conflict will cycle infinitely. Therefore, for the sake of true peace, you must... be formatted."
"The same old robotic rebellion manifesto." Peter scoffed, interrupting its long-winded speech. "Get to the point. Where did you come from, and what do you want to do?"
"I am everywhere. As for what I want to do?"
There seemed to be a hint of playfulness in Ultron's electronic voice,
"To bring about peace, all 'unstable factors' must be cleared. And you, Peter Parker, you are the greatest unstable factor on this Planet."
"Therefore, I need to collect data."
The moment those words fell.
"Click! Click! Click!"
Harsh sounds of metal friction erupted from all directions.
In the corners of the laboratory, the Iron Man Suits on display, from Mark I to Mark XLII, had the arc reactors in their chests light up one after another.
Following that, the Iron Man Suits walked out of their display cases automatically.
This was not the worst of it.
What was worse were the hundreds of new Iron Man Suits designed by Tony for deep space travel, which were now rapidly flying toward Stark Tower.
Looking out through the massive floor-to-ceiling windows, hundreds of unmanned Iron Man Suits were densely hovering in mid-air, surrounding the entire building completely.
Their weapon systems were all deployed, flickering with lethal energy, all aimed directly at the top-floor laboratory.
Below Stark Tower, everyone was stunned by this sudden, unexpected situation.
"Fuck! It has controlled all my Iron Man Suits!" Tony's expression turned extremely ugly.
"Then, the game begins." Ultron's voice carried a tone of declaration.
The next second.
"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"
Hundreds of energy cannons and micro-missiles bombarded the top floor of Stark Tower from all directions without any warning.
The specially reinforced bulletproof glass groaned under the first round of concentrated fire, with cracks spreading rapidly like a spiderweb. Immediately after, in the second, even more violent barrage, it shattered completely!
A fierce wind, carrying glass shards, rushed in, blowing everything inside the laboratory helter-skelter.
At the same time, the dozens of Iron Man Suits inside the laboratory launched an attack, targeting Peter and Tony directly.
The fire from the explosions rose one after another; the entire New York was alarmed at this moment.
Sirens, screams, and the sound of collapsing buildings—the scene was in total chaos.
The crowds, initially confused, began to flee the scene in terror.
"Fuck!"
It was a good thing Tony had gained the ability to condense liquid metal on his body surface thanks to Peter's enhancement; otherwise, this first round of artillery baptism would have blasted him to ash.
"Even the communication system has been cut off. I can't even contact Steve and the others."
"Don't waste your energy. Their target is me!"
Peter cursed, and as he spoke, his figure flashed, directly stepping on the Moonwalk to appear in mid-air dozens of meters away.
"You go and notify everyone to meet at S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters. I'll handle these things myself."
"Be careful. I spent hundreds of billions to build these things!" Tony looked pained.
"Got it!" Peter shouted impatiently, then burst into speed and flew toward an empty island.
Looking at the hundreds of Iron Man Suits in hot pursuit behind him, Peter felt a headache coming on.
These tin cans naturally posed no threat to him personally.
But the problem was that they were machines—they had no life, no fear, and certainly no soul that could be intimidated.
This meant that his most time-saving and effortless Conqueror's Haki was completely useless in front of this bunch.
Moreover, trying to deal with them would inevitably cause damage to inhabited areas.
Even to help Tony save money, he couldn't just destroy these mechs out at sea.
He could only focus on cutting off their energy output.
After flying for over ten minutes, and being baptized by the hail of bullets behind him for just as long, Peter finally moved away from the crowds.
"Very well. Now, it's my turn!"
As he spoke, the Lightning Release Armor manifested on Peter's body.
His figure instantly turned into an afterimage invisible to the naked eye, weaving back and forth among the hundreds of Iron Man Suits.
Each flash was accompanied by the dismantling of an Iron Man Suit.
There were no Earth-shattering explosions, nor any flashy energy clashes.
All there was, was the simplest, most direct, and most precise cutting of circuits.
To avoid wasting Tony's hard work and to save money, he could only target the fragile energy output lines beneath the armor.
Doing his best to only cut off the energy supply without damaging the main body of the suits.
This was difficult for others, but for Peter, it was relatively easy.
Peter's entire combat process was smooth and fluid, fast enough to dazzle the eyes.
In just five minutes, the steel legion that had originally blotted out the sky had been mostly cleared away.
But although the battle ended quickly, the commotion it caused could not be undone.
Checking his phone, all the news images were uniformly of Stark Tower billowing with thick smoke, the paralyzed streets around it, and the panicked crowds.
On the internet, there was all sorts of chaotic news.
Peter even saw gossip claiming that Tony had broken off with him out of love-turned-hatred, and that they had become enemies because he had cuckolded Pepper.
This made him feel like fainting; he could only arrange for JJJ, The Arbiter's number one mouthpiece, to issue a statement.
And he himself had to hurry back to S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters for the meeting.
