Chapter 16: Jack black, the son of the traitorous murderer
Anyone would feel fear if they saw a huge monster squid swimming under the boat sailing on a pitch black lake. If they did not fear about this and can still enjoy the beauty of the magical castle then they are either brave enough to face the monster or they are simply ignorant.
Jack is currently sitting on the same boat of Daphne, Hermione and Neville. Hermione wanted to ask him about something but she stopped herself because of some doubts. Any way they finally reached under the castle where there is a corridor with a stair case leading to the top.
They moved on under the instructions of Hagrid. Hagrid did not know Jack so he did not recognize Jack. As for Draco, he is speaking with his pride, with his eyes and nose toward the sky speaking with Crabbe and Goyle.
On the other hand Jack was silent and mixed in the students. Daphne is standing by his side. Hermione has already moved on forward with the group. Jack whispered in Daphne's ear.
"Don't worry if we are not in the same house. But we will always be together during the entire school life." Jack said to her making her confused and blush for a little while because of his cheesy words.
As they moved up the corridor they stopped at the top in front of the great hall with big doors. The new students are greeted at the castle door by Professor Minerva McGonagall, who tells them they will soon be sorted into their houses.
"All Hogwarts students live in one of four houses namely Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin, with each house having its own team for Quidditch. The houses are in a yearlong competition with one another to acquire the most points,
The points are earned by success in Quidditch games and given by teachers for academic achievement and lost for student infractions, In order to win the House Cup awarded at the end of the year the house has to have most points."
Hermione was a little nervous as she thought that she is going to be tested and if she fails she would be returned to her boring life of a normal person. The first-years wait in an antechamber while McGonagall checks to see whether it is time yet.
The Hogwarts ghosts glide into the room by mistake while debating whether to offer Peeves another chance. Daphne was shocked by the sudden appearance of ghosts and she grabbed the hand of Jack for a moment.
Jack did not fear as he was anticipating them. The students are led to the Great Hall, where the entire school and a battered old hat on a stool are waiting for them. When the students try on the Sorting Hat, it announces the house in which they are placed.
Harry became very nervous fearing that he would be sorted into the Slytherin house which he did not like as he has learned that Voldemort once belonged to Slytherin and the students in it are unpleasant.
Actually this was not his original thoughts, but the prejudice created by Hagrid and other that he met during this time has created this kind of thoughts in his mind. So he started to despise Slytherin from the bottom of his heart.
Jack did not know about this. If he knew he would have definitely laughed at Harry for being stupid for believing in the words of others without proper understanding. Even though he is 11 years old, one cannot be so naive to believe everything others say.
That is after he lived at his aunt's house for so many years enduring their way of treating him. Others would have understood human heart and crave for care. But they will not easily fall into the words of others. If he still did, then he can only be a fool.
Technically it is not to this level of prejudice if he did not meet two special people along the way. One is the incident creator Draco that made the impression of Slytherin and pure bloods enthusiasts are bad.
The second one is the wining shrew Ron Weasley that is the amplifier or brainwasher that would constantly insert the words in the ears of Harry to make him consciously and even subconsciously believe in his words. This turned his impression to worse from bad.
Actually Ron is not just bad towards Slytherin. He would talk bad about anyone he doesn't like because of his inferiority complex. After their first meeting he started to think bad about Hermione as she learnt a spell faster than him.
The point is he is from the wizarding world while she is from the muggle world and she can use a spell while he cannot do that properly failing his attempt to show off in front of Harry potter that has a celebrity status in the wizarding world.
When Hermione was sorted into the Gryffindor, Ron was displeased. He did not like the girl that fuels his inferiority complex. Also she is too upright and proud of herself, for him to become friends with her.
During the call out of the names many people have different anticipations. At that time Jack's name was called.
"Jack Black"
As soon as his name was called the place became quite. Not many people know about his existence. But anyone that listened to the matter related to Sirius Black knows about the Black name.
As for the identity of Jack, it can be easily identified by the people present. He is the only heir of Black family currently present. So immediately things are connected to him and he gained the name, "The son of the murderer and a traitor"
People might allow a murderer to join their group, but they would not associate with someone related to a traitor on both good and bad sides. After all, a traitor can betray anyone for their own interests. No one wants to keep a traitor on their side.
