I knew we were getting close when the familiar hum of Raven's magical border started pressing at the edges of my awareness. The original plan had been to bring Gaia with us on the run, but she had decided to teleport directly to our arrival point when she saw it in a vision. Her age made the long journey impractical and she had her own ways of being where she needed to be.
Several wolves in the formation began to drift or slow as the energy intensified around us and I had to nudge them back on course more than once. We kept following my markings north, moving slower with each step, until the air ahead of us took on a faint shimmer that I could see even through the growing dark.
