I had waited for Nova downstairs after noticing she had escaped back to her own room, greeting the pack members who came by as the minutes passed. When she finally appeared on the stairs I felt the grin come before I could think to stop it. There was something about her that did that to me consistently and I had given up pretending otherwise.
We made our way into the kitchen together after I stopped to greet Noah, one of the wolves joining us today. Nova went shy almost immediately when he addressed her as Luna, which I found deeply endearing. A number of the pack had accepted her without hesitation after the meeting, even though she was not yet marked and the formal challenge had not taken place. That last part was still sitting heavy at the back of my mind. I was planning to speak to the King when the opportunity came. I could only try.
